Nothing but good stuff to say about the people and value at Outdoor and More. Whenever I'm asked about getting basic reliable gear and a good price I recommend O & M. Seems that employies are speaking from experience regarding equipment choices and won't sell you stuff you don't need. I will often go up to the big "co-op" up the street and find exactly what i'm looking for and then go to Outdoor and More and buy it. love it...

Outdoor and More is pretty good place to find good bargains on outdoor gear. I wouldn't say it's cheap but it's definitely less expensive than REI. the downside is that their stock is inconsistant... More
Outdoor and More is pretty good place to find good bargains on outdoor gear. I wouldn't say it's cheap but it's definitely less expensive than REI. the downside is that their stock is inconsistant and they don't always have the widest selection of recognizable brands.

This place, near the main REI store downtown, has a great selection of name brands (including Northface) of outdoor clothing and gear, at discount prices. In some items, size and color may be an issue, but it is worth a visit on a regular basis.
The only Northface store that I know of is at 1023 1st ave, in seattle. 622-4111. Be prepared for sticker shock.

This place often stocks items I can't find at REI and vice-versa. This is a good place to look for a coat or backpack. They have big sales throughout the year that are worth checking out. They also have a website but much of what they stock is not listed. Customer care here is important. One day I asked a question about a particular gortex coat and received an articulate and informative fifteen minute answer. This store is conveniently located a few blocks away from REI.

This place is disorganized, so it’s not as easy to navigate as REI, their main competitor. But if you want bargains and quality outdoor clothing, this is the place. They’ve got the basics: vests, coats, pants, packs, socks, boots, etc. Most of it is brand name and the same models found at bigger places. They also have a great section of trinkets that are great to check out while you’re browsing.
