You can demo rackets for free at Avanti Sports. There's 2 locations: one in Seattle and one in Redmond. They have a great selection. They're pretty relax about letting you keep it for a little longer. Keep trying different rackets until you find the one you like. Avanti is not the cheapest place to buy but it's a great place for selection and expert advice.
Once you find the one you like, try ebay. It's a little difficult getting the right racket with the perfect grip size but people get amazing deals there. I know someone who got 2 volkl catapults 1 for 70 bucks! The right racket makes a huge difference in your game and luckily how much you like the racket is not proportional to the cost. Hope this helps!

This store is home to many tennis players and fans. The staff will surely help you pick out the right tennis racket for you, along with which strings to get, which accessories really help, and which grips are right for your hand. They are very willing to let you test out many rackets at one time, and they are not super picky about you returning them quickly as long as there is no one else waiting to test it out.
