Bobby's Hobbies, very new to the Alaska Junction in West Seattle is a very noticeable contribution. Bobby's Hobbies specializes in radio controlled race cars, but the store also doubles as free entertainment for anybody, as the small parking lot next to the store was converted into an outdoor drag strip for the radio cars. Passersby can stop and watch as older men and middle school boys race their creations, creating spills and chills to rival the best of Nascar. When you see a model car limping to the sidelines with the axel flopping off, yet still trying, desperately to compete, a little part inside of you roots for the little guy. The store also features some snacks.
