Good value. There were four in our party with dinner for everyone (we were all quite full) two bottles of wine and 2 beers our check was only $180. The only drawback I saw was since it was our first time we were a tiny bit afraid of what the bill was going to be because there was no menu and the food kept coming and coming. Food is simple, fresh, rustic...good. Service was wonderfully slow paced, non-intrusive & polite. Being able to enjoy dinner on the patio on a warm Seattle night was the biggest plus for me.
Pros: good value, food, ambiance
Cons: none.

I have been going to Pasta Freska for over 6 years now. It is my favorite place to dine in seattle. It is a wonderful hole in the wall where the book really doesn't fit the cover. You will be delightfully surprised at the wonderful dishes that Mike has come up with. His wine selection is also one of the best in town and is low in price! On top of everything you can't beat hanging out with Mike in his restuarant. You seriously get a show with dinner! I highly recommend to anyone who is wanting an unforgettable dining experience.
Pros: Mike's personality!
Cons: redundant menu

Pasta Freska is my husband's and my favorite place to go for any reason we can manufacture. Yes, it's not fancy, but without fail the service is friendly and professional, the wine is great, and Josh, the chef, is happy to make special "veggie" dishes that are delicious (as is everything). Mike (the owner) is great - what's not to love about walking in and having the owner hand you a glass of chianti while you wait a few minutes for a table.
If you haven't been here, it's a great place to take out of town guests for a treat that they will tell everyone else in your family about....
Pros: Great food, good service, a lot of fun to not know what you're having
Cons: Not really any good views from the location, restaurant isn't up-scale, but it's comfortable

I have heard about Pasta Freska over the years, and have always been intrigued by the idea of a restaurant without a menu. After being reminded of this place on the radio one day I decided that I'd take my wife out there for her birthday. We went in with open minds and an empty stomach which is highly recommended. Our reservations were for 6pm and the restaurant was fairly empty, but it fills up quick with quite the wait when we left. The atmosphere is casual and cozy. Be prepared for an outgoing experience as the owner/chef is very friendly and eager to tell you about the dining experience. After a round of asking us what we don't like to eat we were greeted with a bottle of wine, and just had to sit back and watch the food come in. To start we had a round of the signature eggplant appetizer. Even if you don't like eggplant it's a must try. To follow we had a delicious italian salad and bread, pasta, halibut, prawns, tortellini, and an amazing stuffed marsala chicken breast to finish off the dinner. If you have room for dessert I'd recommend it because the dessert platter is worth it. The big question mark coming in was the bill and we were pleasantly surprised. I felt for the amount of food, wine, and dessert it was very reasonable. We're definitely excited to try it again.
Pros: Food, portions, wine, overall dining experience, no decisions to make
Cons: None

As I opened the door I was greeted by a warm hello, a hug, and a kiss on the cheek. And my Grandma and Grandpa had only just met you a few days before. I knew straight away that I was going to have a good dinner even if the food wasn't good I knew that the service would be. There was a lot of food and I was horrified when I could not finish all of the wonderful mouthwatering food. The restaurant was not big at all, but that didn??????t stop me from thinking that I was in heaven, and an angel named Mike Horri was serving me food made by the Gods. I know that seems impossible I thought so to before I ate at Pasta Freska. I know that I'm only 11 years old, but I believe that Pasta Freska deserves millions and millions of awards. I don't think I will ever taste food as great as the food that I had that night for the rest of my life, and I still have a long time to go yet.

The food here is sooooooo good. Wasn't my idea to go and is kinda a hole in the wall but food is amazing! Go with an open mind. The owner is very nice and I raved to people for days after eating here. Just let him bring you food and you will feel like your in heaven for the two hours you are there. I signed up to city search just to rave this restaurant. I will bring many here.
Pros: food, food, wine, friendly staff, you get a very wide variety of food.
Cons: parking, looks are deceiving, this is not an inexpensive restaurant

It's little unsettling to have your meal chosen for you. Let the food set you free. Be prepared to spend 2 to 3 hours on a leisurely meal of several courses, wine, and conversation. The good food, the positive vibe, and the conversation with the owner/chef makes for a refreshing fare. The important thing is to let yourself go with the flow. If you are extremely controlling you will not enjoy this experience.
Pros: You get to enjoy a leisurely meal of 2 to 3 hours
Cons: You need 2 to 3 hours

It looks like it tastes, average at best.
For the dry chicken marsala and chicken parmesan and the remainder of the pre determined menu, it was not worth the price we were charged.
It also would have been nice if the price of the meal and the wine would have been mentioned up front.
Additionally, a "sampler" was provided, that wasn't mentioned, and that we were charged additional for.
Poor communication, too many unspoken assumptions, too much push without enough choice. Even in Italy were there are many prefix meals, there is still some choice.
Pros: You don't have to think about what you want
Cons: You get average food with pushy service for too high of a price

I read all the reviews before going and was still amazed by the food....twice! Chef Mike was great the first time and the second time, a younger (i'm assuming apprentice) did just as well. The much-maligned service is definitely not meant for the where's-my-food-i-want-it-now crowd but if you're planning on a slow evening to enjoy with family & friends, this is the place to go. The meal + dessert + drinks + tips = $35-40/person, a little pricey but worth the experience. Another reviewer was spot-on; although the dinner is menu-less, Chef Mike definitely has his standard dishes (eggplant appetizer anyone?) but you won't hear complaints from me. The decor/ambience didn't match the $ but suited the friendly and personable chef.
Pros: Best Italian Food
Cons: Ambience (very cheap family style compared to the price tag)
