Sports X seems small when you first walk in, but you soon realize that they have a whole lot.
They don't have the newest snowboarding t-shirt, but they do have new snowboards with Magne-traction and tons of boots and bindings to choose from.
Don't expect a million dollar building just know you'll get a knowledgeable staff and the best customer service. Also the low overhead appears to translate into low prices.
Highly recommended.

Good: * Relaxing party atmosphere
* Way to make friends
* Not having to worry about putting on chains
* Felt like I was part of the group when they matched my skiing level with a person who had been on the bus other seasons. Bad: Ski season is too short!. Improvements: No rain in the mountains. Other: Everyone comes in for lunch about the same time and sits at a big table. Wine, juice, and snacks are served on the way home!.

This is my favorite place to snowboard around here. Great service, friendly staff, organized unlike Crystal Mountain. Also offers a good deal on seasons passes. Offers a great facility and a terrain park for snowboarders. I am purchasing a seasons pass to Stevens because it is the best place around.

Then this is a pretty good place to snowboard. It's not quite as big as Crystal (my fav), but is definitely good and just slightly closer to Seattle. Depending on weather, it could be a wash.
If you are going to brave the elements and really enjoy expert skiing, don't miss Seventh Heaven. Definitely an interesting trail.
Overall, I find the backside of the mountain the most fun in good snow conditions.

I've ridden this bus to Steven's Pass for years, if you can get Tuesdays off it's a great way to ensure you get value out of a ski pass - the bus always goes and I don't have to put the chains on. Leaves from Seattle & Kirkland every Tuesday in Jan/Feb.

I just went up to Snoqualmie last Friday and only Summit West was open. They only had 3 lifts in operation, 1 was the daisy run, 1 was for the what they called a "snow park" which consists of only 5 boxes. The main run takes about 5 minutes, you can easily see the bottom of the run from the top. Even if you are a beginner, you'll get sick of running the same runs. Not too much new snow and it's wet because it's not that cold up there yet. Check to see if Central or Alpentahl is open, if it isn't the extra hour drive (round trip) to Stevens is well worth it. Oh and if you're going to keep boarding you have to get up to Baker down the road, it's the best!
