I can never find great gifts for the women in my family (and we have a lot!), but the Soap Box is so great. Perfect place to buy bubble bath, unique soaps, sponges, etc. for a nice and comfy bath experience. If you're looking for something nice and romantic for your lady (or gentlemanly) friends or significant other, try looking here.
I love to stop in there when I am scooting around the U-District on a weekend day.

Having had to always work really hard for my money in (poor) nonprofits, I never thought I would succumb to the ever-so-thriving "skincare clinic"/spa industry. But your age changes things, and with my wedding coming up, I thought I’d give facial a try. Now I’m a believer! Thank you Ramona!
Having read good reviews on JB (thanks everyone), I didn’t hesitate to book a facial with Ramona at SkinLogic. I’m sure their other technicians are competent, too, but being a facial virgin, I wanted to play all my cards right. The clinic is located right by Chocolati Café on E Green Lake, and it’s nice, subtle, and professional looking, like a hybrid between doctor's office and minimalist hair salon.
The receptionist welcomed me and checked me in promptly, and after I filled out some forms I was led to a consultation room with Ramona, where we talked about my concerns and skin care regimen. She’s very easy to talk to. Then it was off to the treatment room. The bed was nice and toasty, the room dim and soothing, and the whole treatment – I got the clinical facial with glycolic peel with Ramona’s recommendation – was completely relaxing. Extraction of course hurt a little bit, but it was done quickly and efficiently. The mask application with a brush felt cool, calming and heavenly on my skin after the cleansing and the peel. It was so relaxing in fact I even fell asleep after Ramona left the room for me to get dressed!
I came out glowing, and I felt like I now had a different skin. (They didn't try to oversell me products, either - they made some mild recommendations, if I were to run out of the stuff I'm currently using.) My fiancé (who may not sometimes notice a new haircut) even commented multiple times how good my skin looked, even on the next day!
I’m definitely going back.

Here's my past reveiw:
Well, they're downtown, in the Medical Dental building at 509 Olive, but I saw Dr. Yajuan Wang at the Oriental Medical Center several years ago for chronic hip pain, and it worked wonders for me. Before seeing her, I had a hard time sleeping and doing anything more than walking, and she worked with me to help heal it..... I loved her, found her very comforting and the whole experience was really great. I'd recommend her to anyone. Additionally, there are other Oriental Medicine practitioners in her office that work with various types of naturopathy and herbs etc....
here's a link to their site. http://www.orientalmedicalcenter.com/index.html Their phone number is 206- 343-7223.

The support and empathy of the nurses here are wonderful. You get calls back and problems taken care of quickly. Dr. Grabowski has done a good job treating excema that became a staph infection. I have found him attentive and very competent.

with the luck i had at places like Salon 7, i was afraid to let anyone else touch my hair. i really didn't need another $75 mullet. so after hearing some good stuff about Mode Organic salon i decided to give it a try.
the negative first: parking. mode downtown is on 4th and pike, so you have to find a garage and pay.
that's the only negative. molly cut my hair and was great. she's nice, she listened to me, and i think she did a super job. the scalp massage i got before the cut was heaven, and all of the scents in the salon are very calming and natural-smelling. no harsh chemicals there!
huge windows, fun but not blaring music and nice people make up the rest of the outfit. i will return.

As the owner of Magnolia Skin Care,i am unsettled to hear the review from Jooz.
I take great pride in making sure my clients are comfortable and happy with their services.
I do ask for feedback, and encourage people to call if there is any discomfort or other issues of concern with my services.
I am the sole owner, and i only see one person at a time, and remember fondly every client i see.
They are all very important to me,and I care about them from the moment they come in.
That is why i am taken aback at the negative review i received, especially since it appears from older posts from this reviewer that he is male.
I have never waxed a man's face,as it is not recommended.
Perhaps he has reviewed the wrong business,as there are several in the Magnolia area.
I hope that he is feeling better, and he does not have that experience again.
Thank you.
Pros: Care about clients
Cons: none

And that is there hand lotion. L'occitane hand moisturizer is the best I've ever come across. Non-greasy, creamy, and chock full of shea. almond, avacado butters... this is perfection. Use a bit on elbows and knees for even extra moisturization. The store is a bit expensive and can be daunting for the first time shoppers, but go in, ask for the hand lotion, and you'll walk out a happy customer. Perfect to get those post-winter hands in shape.

I love Kiehls in the University Village. The store is so well-put together, in my opinion. Something natural yet antique about the decor. The products though are excellent in my opinion. The lotions, lip balms, hair products and such are filled with such luscious, natural ingredients that you are sure to be hooked, even after a few free samples. I bought my mother a sample-size tote filled with all their best-selling products for Valentine's Day this year and now she is hooked, especially on the Intensive Hand Therapy. What really surprised me about the store was their selection of men's bath products-- you lads get so overlooked sometimes! They have great shaving creams... I'm sure your skin will thank you. Prices are very reasonable in my opinion and you only need a small dime-sized amount of lotion with each application of the numerous hand/body lotions so it will surely last you quite awhile. Enjoy!
