Great shopping center in the heart of Downtown Seattle. Have large merry-go-round in the public square during the Christmas season. Always a protestor or something outside. Large pedestrian area outside the mall, great for meeting friends or just hanging out and watching people. Easy access by most busses that go to/from Capitol Hill and Downtown. Many very interesting shops that you don’t normally find in a mall. Very large food-court area with several dozen restaurant choices that, again, you don’t find in most malls: Indian. Cajun, Curry, Soup, Seafood, Mongolian BBQ, etc. Very nice place that is strangely often overlooked by tourists. In the main shopping area of Pine Street. A must-stop!

Urban Outfitters is a great retail store, though sometimes it seems they try too hard to be "hardcore". Some of their more punk-rock inspired clothing just comes off as lame and anything but authentic. I do enjoy their more vintage-inspired clothing lines, however. The prices range from so-so to ridiculous on the main floor but once you get to the sale racks, all bets are off. It's amazing, folks. Last time I frequented those chaotic racks I pulled out a pull-over ruffle cardigan and a sparkly white undershirt, making the perfect glamorous top for a mere eight dollars. 8 DOLLARS! Heck yes! My friend snagged a pair of Lux jeans for thirty dollars, not bad at all! The sales are amazing and they are always on-going, never just post-season.

Target has a great selection usually of tights. Maybe not a ton of colorful options, but lots of affordable textures and patterns that are fun. And I think I saw footless tights there too.

I'm not one to normally supports big chains, but Target has helped me too often for me not to give it a great review! Every time I cannot find a good quality gift at an agreeable price...I head here. Especailly for kid's toys. They pick appropriate and parent approved items that are very affordable! They also have home "stuff" that's in style - okay, their not the highest quality, but for those of us who may change homes or styles pretty often, it's a great option.

i was in northgate and stopped in to see what kids stuff they had. i'm always impressed with their toys that are deeply discounted. lots of books and games but also really good quality toys like Melissa and Doug puzzles, Alexx collapsable stove top, wooden train sets, children's dishes and tea sets... mostly things for the 5 and under set. lots of infant bobbles and play things. they also have clothes which my mother-in-law is a big fan of ("this ralph lauren set was originally $63 and i got it for $12! practically free!")
the toys are pretty random but if you are in the vicinity it's worth checking out.

Sears is the worst place to take your car ever. DO NOT GO THERE. On my way to sears my car died and I needed to get 2 different jump starts to go 5 miles. I arrived at sears and told the guy what happened and said I a new batterey and alternator. The guy told me that it would be quicker to go get it myself and come back so they can put it in. (Let alone I was the only one there). I told him I couldn't even go 5 miles to get here. He then says okay we will put a new batterey in and then you can go. I talk to my boyfriend while they are "putting the battery in" he tells me JUST GET the alternator tested. I tell the guy about 5 minutes after we last spoke. 1 hour and 15 minutes later he comes in and tells me I can ge an alternator for $350. I say I dont' want an alternator...I just want you to test it. Comes the mechanic already took it out. The service guy says, the mechanic is pissed this is goign to take a while. half hour later I am out of there. This place is horrible it should take 5 mi. to put a new battery in and I priced alternators at $150.

I've been a member of this Sam's club for many years. The store is well stocked, clean and most importantly run by some of the finest and kindest employees you could ever hope to find. All sizes, shapes and races...the employees greet me like a member of the family.

I love the Northgate Ross Dress for Less! I have always found great deals there. My daughter shoes ususally cost around $9, from brands like Kenneth Cole, Stride Rite, Carters. I also buy her jeans there, good prices as well. It is more difficult buying clothes/shoes for my osn there though, never have his size (5T). Overall it is very clean and organized. I do not like the stairs that they have leading into the store. I just worry my daughter might fall. The worst Ross is located in Tukwila by Southcenter Mall. That place is disorganized, clothes all over the floor, merchandise is dirty or broken. Perhaps it is the people who shop at that store, but still! plus they always have lines that reach back to the dressing rooms. You have to really want whatever you are standing in line for! I haven't been to the Ross in downtown Seattle for a long time now, cannot tell you what its like. I know it is better than Southcenter Ross though!

My wife and I have seen thousands of art galleries throughout the world in our search for fine art. This gallery is unique in two ways. They have the exclusive rights to represent Jean Louis Corby, one of the finest contemporary sculptures of our time and, more importantly, the owners and their staff are the most knowledgeable and dedicated gallery sales professionals we have had the pleasure to work with in developing our collection.

I've always found a good selection of shoes, socks, underwear, etc. at JC Penney's. The shoe department is set up for self-browsing, but the staff is also very friendly about helping you find the right shoe and right size. I don't think they're on commission, which in my mind helps -- unless it's as a group. Often, I've had several staff members bring me selection.
I also like some of their clothing, jewelry, towels, bedding and rugs and I even got a lamp on sale for a good price.
