I have been a customer of O'Neil plumbing for over 20 years. I have never had a bad experience with them and recommend to anyone. I have tried other plumbing companies such as Southwest plumbing and been charged twice as much for less work. The staff at Southwest is always helpful and responsive. Very professional business.

O'Neill Plumbing charges exorbitant rates and BBB will not accept complaints about their charges. Therefore, by being a BBB member, you will not see any complaints listed on the BBB website for them. I was quoted $95 for the first half hour and $75 for the second half hour. To unstop a drain, they were here for only 3/4 of an hour and that included time to write up their bill. If you divide the amount charged ($170) by the time expended (.75hr) this comes out to be $226 per hour. This is exorbitant by any standards. I have a cleaning lady that works 2 hours for $40. A yard man that mows my grass 2 hours for $50. Even auto mechanics at auto dealers labor charge is less than $100. There was also a charge of $10 for supplies and no supplies were used. When I called I got no explanation for supplies used and was told if any portion of second half hour is used, then the entire $75 must be paid. A bunch of bandits!

WE've used O'Neill several times after having had a VERY bad experience with Southwest Plumbing. They are always available, always nice and fix the problem without selling me everything I don't need. Their techs are honest, humble and straight-forward. I have not been disappointed.

Of all people, I am the strongest advocate for the little guy. Mom and pop shops in these days of "Walmart-ism" is a rarity so I support them as much as possible!! Then we have a plumbing problem - so the first thing I do is go to Judy's Book and do my research. I selected O'Neills. I called and made an appointment for the next day (Friday). At the time that they were schedule to arrive, they call me to tell me that they are too busy to respond to my needs. NOW, I am in desperate need, it's Friday afternoon and out of town guests are arriving on Saturday - because plumbing issues never happen at a convienent time. I ask if they can come later on Friday or on Saturday and they respond, "YES" of course, for a nominal rate of $250 per hour (emergency rate). WHAT!?!? Yea, well they proceed to tell me that I wasn't actually on the schedule for Friday at 2pm, but rather I was on a standby list should they have time to come by. Huh? News to me. So, ROTO ROOTER to the rescue. No emergency fee. They came on Saturday, fixed the problem, easy as pie!!

I know, the aforementioned terms are not usually used in the same sentence with the word "plumbers" but it's true. We called O'Neill to fix our downstairs shower and Nelson, the upstanding, honest man who came to help us in our time of need not only completed the job, he did it cheaper, and in fewer steps than what we had originally discussed. After assessing the situation, he explained our options, gave us his opinion, then let us make a decision on how we wanted to proceed. O'Neill's prices are very competitive, actually less expensive on a couple services, from another place we've used before. (Mr. Rooter - Boo Hiss!) If our shower ever backs up again or should my daughter decide to flush another box (ENTIRE box, mind you) of wipes down the toilet, O'Neill will be getting a ring from us.
