Flashback. 80's Toto. Sing along with me, "All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see you eyes, Rosanna.... Fast Forward. 2006. Cute dishware by company called Rosanna. No relation to Toto song. Just felt a rocker chick moment and had to seize it before a live audience. (You are still live after that, right?) Now onto said plates. I've been purchasing Rosanna dishware since 2001, so I have some say in the matter. First off, they are so ridiculously cute. They're like the cutest puppy looking up at you with big eyes cute. The plates are sold in sets of 4 for around $25 and come packaged in girly girl decorative boxes that look like little hat boxes. They are made of sturdy stoneware and are microwave, dishwasher, and leaving them dirty in your sink for weeks, safe. The Rosanna collection also features mugs, teapots, frosted glass tumblers, and so many more not-so-plain-jane dishware that you just have to check them out for yourself. Design tip: Buy a shadow box that is deep enough for the plate. Paint, wallpaper, or cork the back interior of the box. You can even use a mirror. Then, with amazingly strong hot glue, glue one of the "Parisian Wallpaper" plates into the frame, centered. Viola! Very cool art under glass. "Need you all the way. Rosanna yeah...." Rosanna in the University Village features some great European (and of course, mock-Euro items) as well as the persona of a small, English boutique. The store is cramped with great little gifts as well as amazing china. I love their specialty chocolate bars-- there is a mexican cocoa one, a parisian dark chocolate, and another I cannot remember. They are to die for! Always keep your eye out too for great little purses or wallets. I bought a fantastic small purse (with the cutest embroidered flowers on a creme base) for a mere 19 dollars during one sale. Which brings me to their sales- during the University Village sidewalk sale, Rosanna, in my opinion always beats the competition. I got the most amazing dish set for such a remarkable price during last summer's sale. Just perfect and the designs were so fun! If you ever check out the store, do it in mid-June when the sidewalk sale is going on.

I don't know what it is about this store. I like going in there, but the staff is always so cold and non-attentive. Their products are nice and prices run from super-reasonable to are-you-kidding me? Something here isn't right, and I can't put my finger on just what it is. All I know is I probably won't ever spend much money there.
