It's probably been over a year since I visited the Madrona Hi-Spot. But when I walked in the other day five minutes after closing, not only did the owner remember me and ask about my daughter, he went into the back to get the last ginger cookie so I could bring it home for my wife. Now that's a nieghborhood cofee shop. I should also mention that the Hi-Spot has excellent ginger cookies and serves a variety of fine breakfasts. There's a small outdoor patio for warm summer days. The place can get a little crowded on weekends, but its probably worth the wait.

The Hi Spot secret has been out for many years now, so expect long waits on weekend mornings. If you can handle the wait (or get someone in your party to show up early and reserve you a spot), the food and service are great. Everyone will find something to enjoy on the menu.
