I have a great slogan for Red Mill Burger:
Where the burders are mediocre and the wait is at least 1/2 an hour!
I've been in this place once before a long time ago and decided to give it another chance. I called in my order and they said come by in 10 mins. I came in 10 mins. (the place was not crowded) and after 25 mins later still didn't get my order....SO I LEFT!!!
Not worth my time and money.
Cons: SLOW, SLOW service, Did I mention SLOW???, Pricey so-so burgers

Red Mill is at the oposite end of the spectrum from that other Seattle burger institution, which out of respect for Red Mill won't be mentioned here. Did I mention that Red Mill serves the best burger in Seattle?
If you don't like beef they also have chicken and vegetarian burgers, unlike that other joint.
Pros: Real food, Real Fries, Real Good
Cons: a bit of a wait, needs more locations

I agree these are the best burgers with the most variety I've found in Seattle. Those that wrote reviews that say these burgers are bland have recently had their tastebuds shaved off. They're full of flavor with an assortment of great toppings. Skip the fries, as they are run-of-the-mill frozen fries you can find across the street at QFC. Call ahead, and your order will be waiting for you.
Pros: Great Burgers
Cons: Long wait

The service is slow, the drinks come in only one size and they don't take plastic (but they do take checks -- what's with that?) All of this could be forgiven, except their burgers tasteless. Oh, sure, if you load it up with bacon and fire-roasted chilis and white truffle oil it starts to taste like something. But try a plain hamburger or cheeseburger and you'll realize that their meat is no better than McDonalds, at three times the cost. The best burger joint in town -- if you don't know what a burger should taste like.
Pros: Onion rings
Cons: Tasteless hamburgers, Small drinks, Glacial Service

Why all the hype is about this completely average burger joint? The buns are good, and the bacon is crispy, but the burger patties are micro-thin and mine was undercooked. Add to this a semi-snotty staff (who called the wrong name for my order for a good 10 minutes), looooooong wait (at least 30 minutes at dinnertime), and crush of patrons sporting Seattle-superior attitudes (you'll NEVER hear anybody utter "please", "thank you" or "excuse me"), and Red Mill gets a "thumbs down" in my book.
Pros: Good Buns, Good Milkshakes
Cons: Slow Service, Rude Patrons, VERY crowded

Pros: good food, cheap, fun
Cons: bad seating, kinda slow, only one size drinks

This place is not the end all, be all of burger joints. I like the food, but I don't have 30 and hour to get an over priced hamburger and fries. The wait is long, the place is small and crowded, you are lucky to get a place to sit before your food get cold. What's the point? Go to Scotter's in Ballard. It's better.
Pros: good burger
Cons: not the only burger, crowded, pricey

any of their burgers can be made "veggie" -- which is always an added plus... and the atmosphere is absolutely endearing.

This is the absolute best burger joint in Seattle. It's crowded so be prepared to wait. But if an excellent burger is what you crave, it's worth the wait.
