It's a solid spot -- definitely a better choice than any chain places -- and a neck-and-neck with Dick's for best burger joint in Seattle.
Bring your appetite and an extra notch on your belt...it's a good size burger. Lots of varieties -- try them all at some point. Besides, variety is the spice of life!
Fries are good - onion rings seem to get a little more attention than I think they deserve, but that's just me.
One of the best part - hot chicks in their print ads in the Weekly and Stranger!
Shakes are really good as well -- I'm partial to pineapple myself.
Have fun! Just be sure to turn off your cell phone before going in!

I am somewhat of a connoisseur of burgers, and I can say without hesitation that the Double Bacon Deluxe with Cheese at Red Mill is by far the most outstanding hamburger that has ever passed by my lips.
The ingredients are super fresh and high quality. The atmosphere can sometimes be a little noisy and chaotic, and you will almost certainly have to wait in line to place your order, but the taste you will be rewarded with is well worth any inconvenience.
If you have not yet tried a Red Mill burger you are in for a real treat!

This is by far my favorite place for burgers in Seattle! Red Mill always has the juiciest burgers and the greatest burger sauce. Of course, they're a bit more expensive than McDonalds, but it is definitely worth it. If you have yet to try Red Mill, I urge you to go!!! The only downside is that since they're so delicious, there's usually a line and a wait.

I've been to Red Mill before and waited in the crappy long line. Only to not be able to sit anywhere. After grabbing a coffee next door and a beer across the street one time, I got my car towed from their lot!! I had to find someone to give me a ride to the towing place, then call my friend at the airport and tell him to wait another hour! $260 later and I'll never go back to Red Mill again! There are many other great Burger Joints in Seattle with better customer service, more seating, and more forgiving parking spaces!
Pros: decent sauce
Cons: bad service, long wait, mediocre pattie

BEST MILKSHAKES! Being a burgertarian, I don't know what they taste like... but I do eat the chicken burgers and the veggies and they're are all fantastic. I don't care if I have to wait a few minutes (naver had to wait more than 15 min) for a good meal... that's what you get when you go somewhere popular, get over it, people! Onion rings better than the fries.... ample parking, friendly staff.

Oh dear! Red Mill Burgers, only slightly less a veritable institution than Dick's in the Seattle independent burger joint scene, has some of the finest onion rings I have ever tasted. These rings were either the brain child of Tom Douglas or he was inspired by them, I can't remember which.
Needless to say their burgers, while not descending from the pantheon of hand-formedness, are formidably tasty. The pepper bacon, if that's your thing, is to die for (literally, it's quite greasy), and they have a green chile burger that's not too bad either.
By all means check it out on a late sunny Sunday morning, but be prepared to wait in line, because everybody else on Phinney ridge had the same bright idea...

Best burgers in Seattle. This is not a fast-food burger joint. Take-out is the best way to enjoy their food as both locations are small and seating is usually limited. Want something different? I recommend the Verde burgers with the rosted peppers as a great burger alternative. Get one of their shakes too.... The buterscotch shake is a great companion.
Pros: great menu options, REAL bugers, good ingredients
Cons: , possible wait

Red Mill has enjoyed a mysterious popularity for far too long. While they all look like a roadside diner from the distant past done over by Pottery Barn, unfortunately, people become mesmerized by the interior and forget they are eating a burger that for all the attitude and cost is the epitome of mediocrity. The key problem is the meat - it is generic, has no flavor and is perhaps only marginally better than the steam table Burger at AM/PM. Overall this is more about the appearance of good food rather than being good food.
Pros: Slick interior, No cell phones
Cons: , Not family friendly, Poor quality

True you may have to wait a bit so its good to call ahead. Skip the fries and have the onion rings, they are some of the best I've had. I tried the Verde with a garden burger and it was very tasty. Not much seating so plan to go elsewhere and have a picnic.
Pros: Good Food
