I was in desperate need for an ice cream cone after a great sushi lunch with Andy. We wandered into Daly's and were presented with a magnificent list of milkshakes. I had a Hot Fudge Milkshake - it was awesome. It was almost as good as the Shake Shack in New York City.

OK, it ain't the cleanest and it ain't the prettiest, but I love Daly's. If you are in the mood for grease, grease and more grease, this is the place. The milkshakes are great and the fries are wonderful. The hamburgers are big and horrible for you, but this is the perfect place to go if you are hankering just to pig out.

I have been going to Daly's forever, and I have only ordered a few things on the menu, not for any bad reasons, just because I fail to expand my horizons and stick to what I KNOW is good... THE CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER MILKSHAKE, it tastes like little sips of Reese's heaven. The fish chips are delicious and so is the Daly Double.

Daly's makes the best chocolate shake in Seattle! And if chocolate isn't your style, they have about 20 other options for you to mix and match. Their burgers are big and have all the fixings. They also do great chicken, veggie burgers or fish and chips. Nothing says summer like fries and a shake, so I was really excited to find a place that does them well. The decor is nonexistent, but you can look out to Lake Union from the back. I highly recommend this restaurant for all of your comfort food needs.

As you walk up to Daly's, you will inevitably see some pigeons hanging around the parking lot. But these don't aren't normal pigeons. They are greasy and disheveled. That should have been a sign of things to come. Since Daly's is close to my job, I was really hoping that it would be a great place to go grab a burger. I made a few good attempts at it, but each time I ended up with a gut bomb. I expect that feeling when I make that rare mistake of stopping at McDonald's, but expected a bit more from Daly's since it has been around for so long. Not wanting to end up like the Daly's pigeons, I have not been back for lunch since. They do redeem themselves quite a bit with their milkshakes though. I'll continue to stop in for those.

OK, so it's not the nicest looking place. And maybe the sandwiches don't come topped with the usual fixings (I've had a hamburger as bare as one from McDonald's). But the people are friendly, the shakes are heavenly and the fries--skin still attached--are deep-fried goodness. Sometimes, that's all you need.

OK well if you need a quick lunch on Eastlake, Daly's will serve. The fish and chips was adequate, but the place isn't the cleanest and there is a garbage odor wafting in thru the windows. Still it is cheap and fast. Maybe takeout is the way to go.
