I am crazy about Elliot Bay Pizza's subs -- skip the pizza, which is usually mediocre (Pete's down the street is much better) but definitely try the subs. I have to join the other Judy's Bookers and rave about the hot Turkey sub -- yum! My favorite pastime while on Queen Anne has been to grab one of their toasty Turkey subs and eat it at Kerry Park while dangling my feet over the ledge and looking out over the city. I have also enjoyed their rosemary chicken sub -- but the Turkey is by far my favorite, and has never been a miss in my book.

Elliott Bay Pizza was the first place I ever tasted a true toasted sub, which was the Chicken Ceasar. Since I was in college at the time of discovery it became a staple of my diet because it was so tasty and comparitively cheap.
If you wanted a break from the commons this was the place to go. Walk over to Safeway, grabe a bevie of your choice and you've got a complete meal (or two if you get the foot long, eat half and then save the rest for lunch the next day--I actually eat it cold).
Since having my first sub there about 6 years ago I haven't strayed far from the Chicken Ceasar except for the Chicken Cordon Bleu, which is incredible with all the black forest ham, chicken, fresh tomatoes, melted cheese and seasonings.
Plus, the staff is all pretty chill and the entire place is completely understated. You'd never expect it to be one of the best sub places in town.

I NO LONGER LIVE NEAR "ELLIOT BAY PIZZA," BUT WHEN THE CRAVING HITS, I WILL DRIVE 20 MILES AND HOW, TO GET THERE.
LITERALLY, ONE OF THE BEST PIZZA'S I HAVE EVER HAD BUT THE SANDWICHES ARE FAR FROM RUNNER'S UP.
TRY THEIR TURKEY-HOT SUB ...IT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! ALSO, MAKE SURE TO DELVE INTO THE CHICKEN-PESTO PIZZA FOR ANOTHER BLAST-OFF.
THE ATMOSPHERE IS OKAY BUT TAKING THIS DINING DELIGHT HOME AND POPPING IN A MOVIE IS THE BEST!
IF YOU LIKE HEARTY/TASTY FOOD YOU WILL GET AS CLOSE TO GOURMET AS ONE CAN GET WITH PIZZA, AT "ELLIOT BAY."

but their salads and subs rule! subs are hot or cold, have a good amount of 'meat' on them, good spices, etc. and their salads are also great - i often crave their chef salad.
call ahead for your order, as they are often busy.

If i am lazy or liquored up, this is my go-to place for a good pizza joint that delivers. Located at the top of Queen Anne, Elliott Bay Pizza combines homemade dough, tangy fresh sauces, and plentiful quality toppings into one delicious pie. Highly recommended. And frankly, there's not enough vodka to make Dominos or Pizza Hut actually taste good.

I've never actually had the Pizza at Elliot Bay Pizza, I got hooked on their sub sandwiches and never looked back. Some combo of the type of bread they use and the perfectly toasted cheese . . . it almost makes me cry. A steal at $3.50 for a sandwich.
I'd also like to add as a side note, that pretty much any thing that is prefaced with "Elliot Bay" in this town, ie. also Elliot Bay Books and Elliot Bay Brewery are all really, really worth going to. Weird.

Going to SPU in Lower Queen Anne made this a perfect weekly spot for me and my roommates at least once a week. Located right on top on Queen Anne Hill, the unique Pizza and sub shop makes the best Chicken Caesar sub around. I also recommend the BBQ Chicken sub. I was thrilled when I found that they have recently opened up a new shop in Mill Creek.
