What a fun restaurant! Be sure and dine with a friend and choose from the diverse and delicious menu. Can't go wrong with any of the kabobs or tangines, which are hearty Greek stews. Wine list is varied and has many excellent choices for this hearty fare.
If lobster is on the menu, get it! I have never tasted lobster so delicious the way it was prepared here.
Save room for the yummy desserts, always a Tom Douglas restaurant trait.
Pros: lobster, kabobs, desserts
Cons: , lack of parking, rather pricey

After a long explaination of the menu, which I felt wasn't needed in such detail, I ordered the squash soup and shrimp kebobs.
The soup has crushed inedible pieces of bay leaf in it. I had a one inch stem sticking out of the bowl. Two of the four shrimps weren't deveined.
If you look at the picture of the interior, you will notice that almost every table is next to or has one both sides a wait station or place for drink pick ups.
It was a waste of $20. Doesn't everyone in pro cooking know to take the bay leaf out of your soup or devein a shrimp? Yuck.
Pros: small portions, location
Cons: , bad food prep, zero ambiance

I visited Lola with a large group of friends to celebrate a special occasion. We were all extremely happy with the evening and had a memorable time, although my friend's father paid the bill so that might have helped our mood. The spreads are especially good and we also enjoyed the kabobs (we tried them all!), mussels, lamb burger, spiced squash, rabbit, beef ribs, squished potatoes, and Greek yogurt ice cream. Our server was fantastic and was not afraid to take charge of our large group and help us order. The bar is a great place to relax after work and all patrons are treated to an ample supply of delicious chick peas fried with rosmary. The restaurant was quite noisy on a packed Friday night, but it's better to eat tasty food in a din than bland fare in the solitude of an empty restaurant!
Pros: Chick Peas, Bidet, Tom Douglas sightings
Cons: , Noisy, Was very stuffed

Dahlia Lounge's fried doughnut holes with cream.

Lola?
Depsite trying (5 dishes later) we could not seem to find the signature dish that exemplifies the over-the-top, way-too-busy, chicken-as-dry-as-a-bone, Lola.
Lola, in theory, is a great idea. The "newly resplendent" Hotel Andra is worth a visit and having a Tom Douglas restaurant should up the ante quite a bit. But the food/decor/service is disappointing. Although, I do have to admit that the hosting and service at the various mogul's restaurants has improved of late.
This is middle of the road Tom Douglas food. Furthermore, there are too many extraordinary eateries in Seattle that it should fall under the radar once the buzz dies down. BTW: don't go for breakfast.
Pros: small plates, strange wine list, belltown location
Cons: , loud room, belltown location

Like all of Tom Douglas' restaurants Lola is a winner. A mix of classic and innovative Greek food. The kabobs are good, the starter dips are great, but a bit small, and they have a true Greek salad. If you want to eat in the bar before a movie at Cinerama you can get in and out quickly.
