After a drink at the Can Can, my husband and I drifted over to Lola to experience what I had heard was one great Lemon Drop. We were not disappointed. Tom Douglas is a genius. Part of me secretly wished I'd see him coming out from the kitchen so I could give him a big smack on the cheek for all his efforts.
We had drinks at the bar where the service was unfortunately unimpressive. The server seemed less than thrilled to have us taking up bar space for only appetizers and drinks, but we didn't move. We loved every bite of our appetizer and the drinks were fabulous. We'll be back, and we hope that server won't be working. :)

I had a positive impression of Lola right away. The interior design strikes a rare balance of being stylish, fresh and hip while also feeling down-to-earth and relaxed. Our grou of 5 was seated in a comfortable booth close to the entrance. The service was excellent, especially with regards to suggesting wines by the glass. We ate family style so I had a chance to sample quite a few things. I thought the Greek Salad was great though not your traditional leafy salad. There was a hunk of feta the size of a razor phone in the middle of the plate of olives, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. very tasty. The dolmades were good but not a personal favorite (they taste the same everywhere to me and it's always too greasy). I was not a huge fan of the salmon kebab, but it was as expected -- if you like your salmon grilled and very rich (as it tends to be in Seattle) then you'll like this. The highlight for me was the goat tagine. The meat was very succulent and the flavors quite subtle. The portion was medium-large, but by no means "big" as advertised by our waitress (not by any self-respecting male standards anyway). The vegeterians in the group seemed very satisfied and the dishes tasted ok to me but I'm hard pressed to write a positive review of a vegetable skewer (so allow me to recuse myself). One of the uber-healthy amongst us did comment that it was "rich" and the vegetable skewers had been dripped with olive oil. So it's not quite California cuisine if you're a health nut. But it is tasty and flavorful, in a great setting. Oh almost forgot! Dessert - against my wishes, the group opted to share 2, not 3 desserts. Both were good, though the Chocolate Tart was among the best I've had. (And I've had a lot, since it's the town bicycle of desserts). What made it special was the orange chocolate flakes in the ice cream. The doughnuts were good if...well, if you're into that sort of think. Light tasting, for a donut. But artery cloggin nonetheless.

This is a great addition to the Tom Douglas restaurant choices you have in Seattle (Dahlia, Ettas, Palace Kitchen...). The atmosphere is comfortable and chic. Definitely recommend the kabobs. And the greek salad was made with wonderfully fresh ingrediants. This is a great spot to sit outside and enjoy happy hour. Do NOT miss the Baklava dessert - prepared in a way you will never forget...and tastes divine. We have been to Lola's twice and will return.
Pros: Food, atmosphere.
Cons: Average service.

I really enjoyed my meal at Lola -- for both the food and the service. The potatoes may be the best I have ever had! A cross between smashed, baked & fried they are a garlic lovers dream and even tastier when dipped in the tangy tzatziki. The dessert may also be one of my all-time favorites: warm little pillows filled with sweet goat cheese and topped with honey and pistachios! Mmm! The shwarma was not good: really dry and stringy. The eggplant kebab was bad and tasted like it was from the Safeway deli case: we couldnt finish it. But the pork and prawns kebabs were great.

I'm seeing some negative reviews and I felt compelled to write. I just ate here and I felt the food was stupendous. My colleague and I had a bottle of wine, lamb and prawn kebabs, a whole striped bass (fish of the day), the roasted chicked, the garlic potatoes, the apple crumble, and the coffee ice cream for dessert.
I live in New York, and my wife and I go to fancy restaurants for major events instead of gift giving. We've eaten at Gramercy Tavern, Per Se, Jean George, Babbo, Daniel, Aureole, etc here in New York. All great eats.
I wasn't expecting much from Seattle (except great seafood). I was there on business this week. But Lola was amazing. Top drawer, great ambience, and to top it all off- we got out there for less for than $150 for the 2 of us with tip- for all the food listed above!
Disregard the neg reviews, and listen to the citysearch review- 9.5. Try it- you won't be disappointed!

Because i really like Tom Douglas's other restaurants and cook from his cookbook often, i was really looking forward to this dinner. Turns out, it was just so/so. The salads arrived right on top of the appetizer and then we waited 30+ minutes before our entrees arrived. The octopus on the salad was tasteless and there was something "off" in pretty much every dish. Just didn't live up to my expectation of a Tom Douglas restaurant. ( I agree with another reviewer - Charging extra for pita bread is ridiculous at a restaurant like this (and believe me, i'll pay lots of money for good food).
Pros: good atmosphere
Cons: timing of service

I love Greek/Mediterranean food anyway, but with a Tom Douglas flair, I love it even more. Like all Tom Douglas restaurants, the decor is half the fun and in this particular restaurant, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Do not miss the hummus and salmon kebabs. You really can't go wrong with anything - and the bar has a great cocktail menu.

I recently went to this place for lunch and I was impressed enough to want to go back again. The atmosphere is casual and the decor is very mod and sleek. The cuisine is Greek and my favorite dish there is the lamb kabobs and their hummus is the best in town(different then the traditional hummus)! If you like pizzas, you must try their flatbread (very saucy with thin crust and tons of spices). The downside is it's very crowded and service can be slow, but if you don't mind waiting, the food is well worth it.

This is another one of Tom Douglas’ gems. Love this place. It is Greek food with a Tom Douglas twist to it. The menu price is very inexpensive. For lunch it is about $12 for a salmon kebab, greek salad or red potatoes and pita corners. Yum! Tom Douglas does a good job setting an atmosphere in his restaurants. This one is no exception. High ceilings, great lighting and big booths give it a relaxing yet friendly and inviting atmosphere. Check it out!
