Four of us went there for a Saturday lunch and left disappointed and still hungry. The hostess only gave us three menus, even though there were four of us. We told her we needed another, but she never brought it. Our disappearing waiter took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Two of us ordered the lamb burger ,which came with soggy salt-laden chickpea ?fries.? I could get something tastier at Dick?s for a fraction of the price and with swifter service. The salmon kabob was fatty, leaving much to be desired. The Greek salad was a simple un-gourmet mixture of tomato and cheese. Despite vacant tables and few diners, our food took an unprofessionally long time and arrived lukewarm. When our entree finally did arrive, we placed our dessert orders as we were crunched for time and did not want to wait another 40 minutes after completing our entree for our dessert. The waiter then immediately brought our dessert and placed it on the table even though we had just begun to pick at our undetectable entrees. Bad service and exotic yet salty and untasty food accompanied by a flashy ?chef? name is an experience only the pretensions can enjoy.
Cons: Portions, food, taste, price, everything

My boyfriend and I fled one bad dining experience and found ourselves in another a few nights ago. I'd been to Lola with a small group of people and loved it-- the food was great, portions were very reasonable, and our server was very attentive. So, when we were trying to find (and finish) our original meal, we headed to Lola. Sadly, we were surprised to find a less-than-desirable dinner experience.
Seated quickly, we ordered salads, wine, and Kebabs. The wine menu suggested the Greek wine, "Go on, give it a try!" I think it said. We were skeptical, but at the menu's encouragement, ordered it. Imagine what a tablespoon of dust would taste like in white wine, and this was what our glasses tasted like. Our salads were sizeable, but so full of large chunks of apple that they were overwhelming. Our kebabs, while very tasty, were much smaller than what I'd been served the first time I was at Lola. After we were served our meal, our waitress never checked back in on us. I think, despite the bad wine and disappointing food, we really didn't have the spirit to complain. --Our waitress didn't give us a chance to, since she didn't return and I had to (again) flag down server to get our check.
The ouzo candies at the exit were good, though. I'd come back again to see if maybe Lola was just having an off night (was every restaurant in Seattle in bad straights the day after Christmas?) . When you go, ask your server to guide you through the menu, describe size of items, and avoid the Greek wine---but definitely try the fig, garlic, and cheese kebabs.

This is a fabulous restaurant! Always consistent on food, great service and ambiance. Everyone who I've ever recommended here has also come back with rave reviews. We recently had the snapper, duck, and squash with pears, and we thought we had died and gone to heaven.
Pros: Interesting dishes, fun to share plates

We took a good friend out for her birthday dinner last night (Nov 26) to Lola and it was a new experience for all of us. What a lovely meal it was!
The run down of the menu we sampled is probably too long to cover here but let me say that we had a nice array of meats, seafood, veggies, spreads and more. The tagines (clay pots) make for some succulent dishes (we had pork and a seafood tagine).
The grilled octopus was lovely and a different way to have it served than you usually find in most restaurants. Brussel sprouts were lovely and cooked well.
Desserts were also great; dessert doughnuts, chocolate tart and the ice creams (honey & pistachio) made us all very happy. Cappucinos were also prepared well and I get pretty picky about those because I compare all US coffee drinks to those in Europe I've had.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I've only been to Lola for a couple business lunches, but have heard that it's great for dinner as well. The spread sampler is a great starter. I've tried several of the kababs and the shawarma...all have been great. Sometimes the kabab portions are pretty small though...but still delicious. The desserts are great as well.
Pros: Great Food, Ambience
Cons: Parking

The chef here is incredibly talented! Each menu item is given so much thought! The tangines are delicious as well.. Get a few things to share w/ a group and the price is very reasonable.. The servers are very helpful and friendly.. It is my new favorite hang out. The lola red and white wines are both tasty! The bar has some great infused drinks.. good times

We didn't have a reservation on Friday night, but we were lucky to get seats in the full-service bar. By the time the food came, which took about an hour, we were able to sit on a table outside. I had the huckleberry finn, which is a huckleberry-infused gin, and the cumin crusted quail with spicy peaches. I really liked the unusual combination of quail and peach. It was a nice dining experience.
Pros: Very creative food, good wine list
