Cafe Flora provides a good variety of vegetarian dishes for any time of day. The atmosphere is very pleasant-- a great place to relax with a friend and a glass of wine and enjoy your Quinoa with Roasted Vegetables or Portabello Wellington. The latter is hearty enough to satisfy non-veg companions. We were a little disappointed in the Mu-shu Seitan, but that was a couple of years ago. Not a perfect place to bring your kids, since the selections may be unfamiliar, and their shrieks will disturb the other diners.

Café Flora is one of those amazing places that will satisfy everyone - not a simple feat for a vegetarian restaurant. The food is carefully prepared and delicious, the space is bright and comfortable (there is a regular restaurant part and the solarium) and the service is generally friendly. Although I have had one great dinner there (and amazing chocolate dessert), we usually go for brunch. Brunch is great – try the cheesy grits! Also, enjoy the gratis shot of fresh squeezed OJ.

This is my favorite restaurant in the city, which is saying a lot considering the fact that I am not a vegetarian and I love meat. Reliable standards include spicy Oaxaca tacos and a meatless-but-meaty-tasting portobello Wellington. Because the menu changes weekly and some of the cuisine is quite creative, follow the servers' recommendations. For dessert, even the vegan selections are rich and moist. The popular brunches are served with a complementary shot of fresh orange juice. Don't miss the beignets with berries and ginger crème anglaise or breakfast quesadilla. Service, though often rushed during brunch, tends to settle down for lunch and dinner.

This is an excellent restaurant for vegetarians and also non-vegetarians. Very creative menu, lots of wonderful options for all palates. The pizzas are wonderful, simple and delicious. But don't stop there. The tacos are so great with interesting ingredients. Everything here is good! Try all the superb and inventive dishes! And desserts are excellent!

The food is very good if not consistently great.
Meat eaters can go there and feel satisfied, there is a good selection of tasty food.
They do have a kid's menu, and will bring crayons.
Adults that are gluten free will find flavorful choices on the menu, but none of the items on the kid's menu say that they are GF. The items listed as GF are too spicy for kids, but the staff will try and work with you and accommodate your needs. The best option is the GF waffles for brunch.
I have one Gluten Free daughter and one that gets sick from eggs, and we always find something they can eat.

We've been twice to Cafe Flora - and loved it both times. There's a great menu with a variety of tasty and original things to sample... some for the adventurous and others for the more mainstream palette. On both trips the waitstaff was friendly and attentive to us. The atmosphere is nice... particularly lovely if you sit in the solarium-type room complete with fountain and greenery. Downside... it's quite pricey.

El Gaucho's Caesar is really authentic and wonderful, to say nothing of the showmanship. That said, there are other options and one of my favorites is the one at Cafe Flora.
Cafe Flora is a vegetarian restaurant and what makes their Caesar so special is how they end-run around the anchovies. Fired capers impart all the earthy-salty flavor notes, but keep the salad light. So many Caesar's get heavy with garlic or cheese, but this one just floats on a chilled plate.

My family is all vegetarian, so we had been to this restaurant before and loved our experience. The atmosphere is so nice, the waitstaff is good, and the food is dang good. We've enjoyed it every single time we've been there.
However, not too long ago my spouse discovered some food allergies, and so when we went here a while later, we were a little worried about what my spouse would find to eat.
We needn't have worried. There were a large number of items on the menu that were safe for folks with different food allergies, and we were also informed that we could ask for substitutions if something on the menu would cause a reaction.
So now we love Cafe Flora even more.

Flora has a great brunch. I love the breakfast quesadilla which usually has some squash, some greens and some cheese folded into a tortilla and surrounded by eggs. It comes with a lovely little salad.
Dinner is good, but not great. I've had some hits and some misses there, including the soups which are usually not as bold as I'd like.
In terms of gourmet veggie food, I'd go to Carmelita.
