This place is our reliable stand-by. The only real problem is that my husband wants to go there TOO MUCH. I have heard the same complaint from other friends... The food is much better than 'standard' U.S. Mexican fare...from the tasty warm tortillas they offer w/butter and salsa when you walk in the door to imaginative vegetarian entrees and awsome mole sauce, this place is really good.

I guess you could say that my roommate and i are regulars here. It is within walking distance from our house and we've never had a bad experience here. Except for the one time i asked the waiter if there was actually tequila in my Margarita and he looked at me like i was an idiot. It just didn't taste very strong! Anyway, the service is always fast and friendly, the food is good including some vegetarian options. The mojitos are the best! We have been there countless times in the past year with lots of friends and i don't think we have ever accepted the offering of the fresh flour tortilla upon entering the establishment. But it's nice to know the options is always there. We do, however, discuss how to free the woman in the cage giving out the tortillas.

We went to Luisa's mostly because we had an Entertainment 2 for 1 coupon. Oddly, all of Ballard seems to go to this place. The food is decent but not my favorite Mexican in Seattle. The people are extremely nice, however, and the flan is good. My favorite part of the evening was that while you wait to be seated a woman is making fresh tortillas right in front of you AND she'll grill one up, slather it with butter, throw in a couple of mild chiles and hand it to you. AMAZING. Granted, I've never had fresh tortillas before but this was truly special. Make sure you get one while you're there!

Luisa's, formerlly Rosita's, is located across from the Crown Hill QFC, formerlly Art's (ah, those were the days...). The best thing about Luisa's is that you get a homemade tortilla, straight off the grill, when you walk in the door. Most of the seating is booths. I don't think the food is that good, but my husband thought his was ok.

This is a great place to go if you want Mexican, but not in a take-out kind of way. Luisa's is actually a relatively "new" restaurant (new name/management/same everything else)...but thankfully, the quality is still on-par. A treat for the kids (or yourself?) are the home-made corn tortillas made from scratch as you wait to be seated...YUM. The environment is authentic as Seattle gets, casual, and kid-friendly. But if dining with a room of kids isn't your idea of fun, that's okay because the restaurant is pretty big, with lots of seating options, small booths and bigger tables to accommodate larger parties. The margaritas aren't bad either.

We really like this mexican place on Holman Road in Seattle's Crown Hill area. It is tasty, reasonably priced and kid-friendly. We have been there numerous times with our nine-month-old daughter and they are always gracious and welcoming. We feel comfortable bringing her there and often see many other families dining. The service is quick (so important when dining with a baby) and we always have a good experience dining there!
