Excellent food, atmosphere. The steak is by far the best I have ever had, no question. I drive more than 200 miles just to go there.

I recently started a new job downtown Seattle and was introduced to the happy hour at the Met by colleagues. The service I have received in the bar is unparalled in my experience and after only 2 visits the staff remembered my name and my favorite drink!
They have some great deals on bar food and I will be making the Met an after work tradition.
Pros: service, value, ambience
Cons: crowded

I was in a few weeks ago, and had the best N.Y. strip steak of my life. The service was excellent, and value for the money spent was well worth it.

Very disappointed with the service and the food. Salad & Lobster Bisque was ok, but I have had better. Steak was horrible. Not sure why they call themselves as a steakhouse. It didnt look like they understand what I meant by RARE First it came out Medium, so I asked for another one and it came out Medium Rare. My wife asked for Well-done, but she got Medium. When she asked them to cook it further, they burned the whole steak so my wife ended up canceling the order. To make the matter worse, the waiter and manager were very arrogant.

I came into the Met recently for my 10th anniv. We have come in before and EVERY time we are greeted with the same EXCEPTIONAL customer service. They treat us like family. The food is always great and we look forward to coming back every year. Anyway, dinner was great as usual and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

We went to the Met last spring, and it was WONDERFUL. Since we were in town this fall for business, we were looking forward to the opportunity to dine at the Met again. Although the service was exceptional, the food wasn't up to par. The filet was dry, and the sirloin was mediocre, at best. The experience didn't match our expectations or reputation of the Met. We were seated at a table with uneven legs, resulting in our wine glasses almost falling over. Plus, the brass wasn't polished. The Met can be a fabulous place to dine, but complacency, it seems, has gotten the better of them. They can do much better.

What is it about this place that draws ever more tasteless people? THE MOST HIGHLY OVER-RATED restaurant in the country. BIG does not necessarily mean GREAT, or even good. Almost inedible side dishes, a baked potato as big as your head, a noise level akin to a frat party at 1:00 A.M., bar filled with cigar smoke, PLEASE! Having experienced the same issues at every visit, of which there have been many over the last 15 years, I must say I gave the Met a fair chance, but it cannot keep my patronage any more.

As an out-of-towner, I was looking forward to eating at what my Seattle friends call the "Met." I came away both impressed and a little underwhelmed--esp when the bill came! The spinach salad is amazing, and my friend loved her french onion soup. The steaks were good but not what you'd expect at these prices. The NY Strip was a little tough and chewy, the Filet was better. Dessert was amazing--apple crisp that was flambayed tableside. All in all a fun night out, but the steaks were definately a tad overpriced.
Pros: Old-school Feel, Starters and Dessert
