Wow the met has a lot of great steaks and that is pretty much their specialty. I would say they are on a similar level to Ruth's Chris steak house, but the met is tiny bit classier i think. Its pretty darn pricey, most steaks cost above 20 dollars.. even the 9oz ones. Its kind of a taboo if you ask for a steak well done at these types of restaurants, tho they will cook it however you want its really its best when its juicy and a little pink still! These are the best juicy steaks in town, if you can afford it, stop in! or take a date here! a great place for that, but dress a little nice, as its not really casual..

In the current "supersized" American culture it is no wonder the Met has a top reputation for its enormous steaks. I have found their steaks to be above average but at a top price. I believe the Met's food appeals to those who value sheer volume over outright quality.
But what really turned me off was the prize-winning size of the cockroaches that scurried across the floor on my last visit. Oh sure, I know that there's not a restaurant in town that doesn't have some type of varmint it would rather not have its patrons know about. However, when two cockroaches the size of computer mice darted down the aisle past our server, who deftly darted out of the way and then denied seeing them, I decided I'd had enough of the Met. I'm leaving the gigantic steaks to the gigantic cockroaches and going somewhere where they at least do a better job of keeping their unsavory pets hidden.

I absolutely love this restaurant. In my opinion, it has the best steak in the Seattle area. I ordered the prime rib and it was absolutely perfect. I have never had a better grilled steak in my life. They also did a very good job with their garlic mashed potatoes and was a great meal overall. They also serve great mixed drinks and my girlfriend still says they served the best Cosmopolitan martini she has ever had. The one drawback is that it is very expensive to eat here. A dinner for two and drinks totaled over $140, so be prepared to spend some money when you show up. But it is still very good food and worth it for the price.

The metropolitan grill a safe bet for a good atmosphere. It is a classy and modern place with very good service. Every time I go there I receive excellent service and always leave satisfied. It is always a good place to take a date or just to go to a nice lunch. The food is not exemplary but is always quite good. It is slightly overpriced but all in all I feel that it is worth a visit here and there.

In the old days, it seems like the Met's claim to steakhouse superiority in Seattle was unchallenged and unquestioned. In the last several years, though, a number of other contenders have raised the bar, in some cases surpassing the Met's high standard. The quality of the steaks themselves remains very good, largely free from embellishment or excessive creativity. But on the occasions when I've ventured off the steak menu to try other offerings (i.e., lamb), I haven't been particularly impressed. The atmosphere is old-school stylish, but it can get very noisy, and the bar and waiting area seem cramped if there's a crowd. Likewise, the service is old fashioned -- generally attentive but sometimes appears overworked. Overall, the dining experience just doesn't feel as luxurious and filled with attention to detail as some of the Met's competitors. It's no longer my first choice in Seattle.

Their ads aren't exaggerating when they simply state "The Best Steak in Town". Whenever money is no object, this is where I go for a great evening with world-class service and food that is consistently fabulous. Expect to pay between $70 and $100 per person for a full dinner with appetizers, cocktail, drinks, desert, and espresso. To me this is the gold standard when it comes to steaks. You always get them exactly the way you order them, and they are amazing! Don't even think about pouring some steak sauce over them.
And the reason I love Seattle is that even at a place like this, the waiters are down to earth and casual, even though they're wearing white coats, and don't look at you funny if you show up wearing jeans. That's not to say that they aren't professional, they are; and they strike that perfect balance of being there whenever you need them, and leaving you alone when you don't.

I eat here all the time and had yet another fantastic lunch with clients this week. Service is always as good as you could ask for and the food, while not the most exotic, is always perfecctly cooked and done just the way you'd want it. Their Seafood salad is awesome for lunch as well as the Kobe Beef Burger with Bacon. Make reservations at least a week out though and if you go for dinner ask for Craig, still the best waiter in Seattle!

My husband and I recently dined at the Met for the first time after hearing friends rave about it for years. It will certainly be the first of many- the food was incredible, as were the drinks (try the Smoky Martini!!). The service was unsurpassed. I highly reccommend the Met for a great (although expensive) meal out.
Pros: steak/martinis, atmosphere, service!
Cons: expensive, fairly loud

My parents recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and I treated them to a dinner at the Met. I can't say enough about the excellent service we received! Our waiter knew all about the anniversary on our arrival and addressed my parents by name!! They received a complimentary dessert and several staff members came by our table in the course of our dinner to offer their congratulations.
Thank you Met Grill staff for providing my parents with a truly memorable anniversary!!
Pros: Excellent service, great steak, valet
Cons: noisy, long wait

Introduced two family members to the "Met" last Saturday evening. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. The rib-eye special was as tough as I have ever had. The accompanyments were ALL served cold. The portobello mushrooms were inedible. And to top it off, the service was horrible! (forgot the drinks, wrong potatoe on two of the meals, poor attention to the table.) On the bright side, the table captains were very good. Very unlike the "met". I guess it was just a bad day. They get one more chance.
Pros: atmosphere, table captains, desserts
Cons: service, quality, taste
