The Ram at University Village is the perfect place. The food and beverages are great and served in perfect portions. Sports fans abound. It is the next best thing to being at the stadium.

It has big booths, a kids menu, and it's loud enough that they don't have to be on their absolute best behavior. So, we eat here a lot. :) I think the food is a step up from Red Robin but not a big giant step. My favorite thing to order is the french dip. Yummmm!!! It has VERY lean roast beef which so you don't have to open it up and pick the meat all apart. Um, not that I know anyone who would do that...

The onion ring stack at the Ram is one of the best grease infused snacks I have ever had. It is a perfect combination of grease and onion. The Ram also has daily specials that include free meals for kids on mondays and all you can eat fish and chips on thursdays. Overall, the menu is full of grease and is not the best place to eat if you are a vegetarian. This place is a brew house but in microbrewery laden Seattle the beer, in my humble opinion is not so great. Prices average 10 to 15 a person and there is outdoor seating at the University Village branch.

Maybe I'm a traditionalist.....I don't know. I used to go to the Ram during recruiting visits in January (yes, I was a Husky Hostess, the President even). I liked their big rooms in the back for larger parties, and I liked the quaint bar. Good decent burgers too. Now it's just HUGE and it seems that the service and the quality have gone down hill. It's a trendy restaurant now in a trendy U Village. Their beer ain't that great. Maybe I just miss Ernst and the old bowling alley more!

The food is great, but don't count on great service. Especially in the bar, it's not uncommon to wait twenty minutes for a glass of water or napkin.

The Ram strikes me as a classic steakhouse, with a variety of dishes incorporating meat and seafood. This place is often very busy; if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night, or with a large group, make sure you have reservations. Vegetarians should avoid The Ram; the last time I looked at their menu, I couldn't find a single vegetarian dish. I have particularly enjoyed their fries and the chicken caesar salad in the past.

I enjoy watching sporting events at the Ram, although it can definitely be a madhouse during any UW game (part of the fun). They also have a really good happy hour depending on when you are there. What better place to watch NCAA basketball than a place largely frequented by avid UW fans? Oh, did I mention they brew their own beer? Good stuff.

A great brewery to go to if you like college sports. That atmosphere is new age pub. It is filled with classy sport memorabilia, including a UW rowing shell hanging from the ceiling. The burgers are good, however, expect to leave feeling a little stuffed. The sizzling bread pudding dessert is one of the finest. A few burned tongues though, due to the rush to eat it up quick.
