I'm done with this place. When I've gone with other folks, as I often have, the experience is great: the food is exceptionally good and the servers are too. However, on going by my lonesome on several occasions, and even in the presence of half a dozen or more empty 4-top tables, I've been told to wait. And wait. And wait. Last time, I waited for over half an hour while tables of two or more were shown to empty tables; I left on noticing that there were still three unused tables. I won't be back, with or without friends, period.

I accidentally went to the Sunflour Cafe in Wedgewood on the (miscommunicated) advice of a friend. I'm sorry I did. The baked goods looked unimaginative and dry, the server was unashamedly disinterested, and the salad was totally boring. It was not an accidentally wonderful find; it was a waste of time.

Sunflour's breads are some of my favorite in Seattle. Their whole wheat loafs are light & fluffy, yet full of whole-grain goodness. For a buttery treat, the italian loafs are delicious (although only available certain days). The restaurant fare is above average and the service friendly.

My wife and I used to live just down the street from the Sunflour, and used to have breakfast there a couple times a month. Today on a whim we went, for the first time in a couple years. Nothing has changed. Same menu, same food...same slow service (more on that later). Same good, basic breakfast joint. The Sunflour menu isn't big, but it has some nice unique touches such as a veggie potatoe fry and french toast dipped in a custard mixture rather than plain eggs. And there are old standbys like eggs benedict, corned beef hash, and a traditional American breakfast. Also worth noting is what's not there - pancakes, cheese omlette. Food quality is fine. Particularly the baked goods. The one knock on the place is the service. The servers are very nice. But the kitchen is slow. It took 10 minutes got get my wife's latte. Having said that breakfast did come faster than I expected. But if you're looking for a consistently good breakfast experience Sunflour is worth it.

Since I usually eat French toast wherever I go, I based restaurants on that a lot. It's an easy dish so I think it's a good indicator. Sunflour Bakery has fluffy, egg-y French toast. It's my second favorite in the city. While I don't get to Wedgwood often, it's a great place to eat. They have waiters there who are PROFESSIONAL. I like that. It makes me feel like a real person (not just a over-consuming, breakfast snob) when someone takes pride in serving. And the name is clever.

The Sunflour Bakery is a great local joint and famed for its great breakfasts. The restaurant itself feels like you're sitting in your own little breakfast nook and the staff are all very warm and inviting. While, like most reviewers, the breakfast hour can get a bit crowded, taking away from that home-y feeling, the wait is worth it. Take a stroll around the great neighborhood if you're told to come back in ten-fifteen minutes! The menu is hearty and varied and everyone will be sure to find their favorite breakfast item. Bring the whole family-- the inviting, personal vibe is enhanced when the kids are running around and the adults chatting with folded newspapers.... Enjoy!

This is where we end up when it's raining, when our 6-year-old is cranky, and when we're just hungry as heck and have 8 pm theater tickets. It's one of Seattle's great unheralded restaurants, in my opinion -- the menu and wine list are varied and interesting, they'll make substitutions readily, they have nice inexpensive side dishes that work well for kids, and the waitstaff is knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. Seafood dishes are always delicious here. Ask to start with the roasted head of garlic!

The Sunflour Bakery is a great neighborhood bakery and restaurant. It is close to my work and their delicious food and friendly service keep me coming back often. Their selection of sandwiches is absolutely scrumptious made with fresh baked bread. It is the type of homemade sandwich I would make if I took the time bake fresh bread each day. They also have a variety of lunch specials, breakfast items and they even serve dinner. You can sit either sit in their cozy dinning room or grab something on the go. From a latte and a whole wheat cinnamon roll to their salads and sandwiches I always find something great to eat.

The Sunflour has a way busy breakfast schedule, which is good for them, but bad for customers who show up too late to get a table. Especially on Sundays. I always walk there from my house with just a cup of coffee to go in mind, and if there is an open table I sit and eat. When I first went here I always wanted to eat, but once I changed my mind set to just coffee I have been less disappointed because when there is an available table it makes my day.
