Ponti is one of my husband's & my favorite places for a nice dinner out. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed, with great outdoor seating during warmer months. Free valet parking is available, and service inside is just as friendly.
The food is fabulous, too -- we've never been disappointed. Our favorite dish is the Cajun Barbecued Prawns appetizer. We often go there just because we're craving it! There's more on their web site:

My husband and I recently visited Ponti to celebrate his PhD defense. We were seated promptly outside and that was the only part of meal that was prompt. Our waitress took our drink and dinner orders, then disappeared for an hour. The table next to us had finished nearly finished their entree by the time we got our appetizer. our watiress pointed out to the gentleman that his martini was almost gone, and did he want another, while we were both sitting with empty glasses. Maybe this restaraunt isn't used to younger dinner (we're in our mid twenties), but I thought they could have done a better job. While the food was good it was way overpriced. My husband ordered king crab, and got one leg for $36. While I loved sitting right next to the water, I won't return to this restaraunt again.

This place is great! I would give it a perfect, but perfection is philosophically unattainable for me.
Great seafood, as well as pasta, meat, etc. It is located on the Ship Canal, at the South side of the Fremont Bridge. On a warm day or evening sit on the deck and watch the many and varied boats go by. Inside the decor is something like an Italian country bistro (whatever that looks like). Service was friendly, professional, and not intrusive.
