I would highly recommend Serafina's on Eastlake. It is a lovely Italian restauarant with a cozy atmosphere. The food is amazing!

If you want a romantic night out with someone you love - anniversary, birthday... Or want to spark that romance with a love that MAY be about to bloom.... Serafina is your place. Especially if you can eat out on the patio, which you can almost all year long. When it's colder out, they'll pull out the space heaters, and if it starts to drizzle and everyone else goes in, they'll pull umbrellas over you and you'll have the whole patio to yourself. Acts of weather not withstanding, Serafina has fabulous earthy and sophisticated European ambiance that puts you at ease while transporting you far away. The food is simple and elegant, but truly delicious - stuff you're not likely to prepare for yourself. I think this is one of the most romantic places in the city - and it's not overly expensive. So, in answer to your question, Serafina is a great place to celebrate an anniversary, or just any random Tuesday that you realize how lucky you are to have what and who you have...

My wife and I went here a few weeks ago for a late dinner and sat on the patio in back. It was a really nice night. They have a big wine list (a number of half bottles, too), and we were happy with the food. The bar is a great place to sit and wait for your table. I suggest getting reservations, though.

I have had good dependable meals at Serafina, the food is good, and the service is usually superb. I find it a tad bit pricey if you want to order salad, entrée, wine and dessert, but no overly so.
I was a little disappointed when I went for lunch last week. The patio/courtyard is fabulous in the summer, and has the feeling of a little square in Italy.
But there were a few details that did bother me about my experience.
I had to ask three times for more coffee before some actually showed up, yet our server didn't seem to be all that busy. Same went for water, our glasses were empty more often than not on our table.
The ravioli dish I ordered was described as being served with a "Heirloom Tomato sauce with Arugula" What I got was ravioli dressed in butter/ olive oil and halves of tasteless cherry tomatoes and a few traces of extremely limp arugula leaves (maybe 5). I felt it was just not what had been described on the menu. It was not a "sauce," it was more of a garnish on my dish. I was unimpressed with the quantity of tomatoes, and disappointed to find them not what I would think of "Heirloom" Tomatoes: gorgeous, ripe, sometime ugly things, bursting with flavor that has NOT been bred out of them for aesthetic reasons. These were anemic, tasteless cherry tomatoes. When I asked our server about it, she told me they were Heirloom Cherry tomatoes. I know that such a thing exists, but would find it hard to believe that the chef would be happy that tomatoes had made it to the table, or that the menu wouldn't mention that they were cherry or grape size...
This experience would not keep me from going back to Serafina, the food is typically quite good, as well as the service, but I might question returning for lunch, because it seems that the eye to detail that appears at dinner is not the same at lunch, and the entrées are a bit pricey at lunch. (approx. average of $14)

My husband and I spent a very nice evening at dinner at Serafina last night. We sat by the open windows next to the outdoor patio and enjoyed both the breeze and the ambiance from within the restaurant. We had difficulty deciding on which of the entrees to choose - the selection was wide and each sounded so good! We were not disappointed - our food was amazing. The servers are prompt and provide minimal interruptions. My only suggestions for them would be to change their bread and offer a plain extra virgin olive oil for dipping...the one they have is wonderful, but heavily infused...might detract from the flavors of your plate. Overall, this is a place to come back to...next time for dessert!

I've been to many Italian restaurants around Seattle, but I must say Serfina has left a lasting impression with me. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staffs are all very friendly. I was there for lunch a couple of days ago and requested for outdoor seatings. This is one of my favorite outdoor sitting restaurant in Seattle. The place really makes me feel like I'm in a small town in Italy.
The food was also amazing. I love the calamari, it's not fried like most places, and very delicious! The affogato was also very good, a simple dessert for a summer lunch. The price is very affordable. My three course meal for lunch cost me $12.95! Highly recommended!

I love Serafina's bar. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a lush and don't drink at bars too often but when I am in the mood for an after-work cocktail I can't think of many places better suited for my tastes than Serafina. Located in Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood, it's a stone's throw from my office which is great but beside the point. Serafina's small, casual bar stands on its own as a place to meet friends and imbibe. The bartenders there are really friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list, cocktails, and even the beers on tap. Ask them for recommendations and you'll be glad you did. I've also had a couple of meals at Serafina which I've enjoyed. I've never been blown away by the cuisine (pretty standard Italian) but it's always been good.
