With a name like Die Bierstude and a love for German beer how can you go wrong? This brother bar to Prost! is great on the weekdays - what bar isn't, right? Here's the deal, they have all your favorite German imports on tap and some you've never heard of, and the bartenders are great. I always look forward to trying something new when I go in. However, I made the mistake of meeting some friends there on a Saturday. It was a bastion of frat parties and thong underwear. If you sit at the bar and keep to your beer, it won't bother you as much, and really what can we do? College kids like German beer too. Overall, two Prosts! to Die Bierstube.

If only the service had been as good. I am usually really laid back about most of these things, but the service on the night I was there was less than fantastic. The waitress even came up later on and laughed about the beer that she had forgotten to get me...as though I thought it was funny...
I am in no particular hurry to get back there, but maybe it was just an off night.

If you're looking for German food and beer, I recommend die Bierstube on Roosevelt north of the University district. They've got a huge selection of German beers and authentic German food. It's a pretty casual place. There's also a dart board. This is a good place to hang out with friends. You can get a great bratwurst for just a few bucks.
