Hana is fantastic value for the money. They don't do anything that is super fancy, but they offer all the standard Japanese fare that Americans expect to see on the menu, and they do it well. From all manner of sushi, to udon, to agedashi tofu, Hana does a quality job of serving up classic Japanese fare. The service is also very fast and unpretentious. Great place to grab a quick dinner and you won't break the bank doing it. If you want fancy, go to Nishino, but if you want tasty, quick and inexpensive, head to Hana.
Pros: Great value for classic Japanese food.
Cons: In an unusual spot on Broadway which isn't particularly beautiful.

This is my husband's favorite sushi resturant. We have tried other places in the area, but nothing compares. The great part is here the sushi super tastey but not super pricey. Service is prompt and the staff is friendly. The place may not be the most romantic atmosphere, but the food makes it worth it.
Pros: Great Food, Great Price
Cons: limited seating, not great ambience

I eat here at least once a week since it's within walking distance from my home. I've been going here for the past 11 years and it continues to be my favorite restaurant, period. The food (especially the rice bowls) are absolutely delicious and inexpensive. The sushi is much better quality than places like Todai or supermarkets, but even cheaper. The environment is busy and informal, much like you'd find in a neighborhood staple in Japan.
The food is delicious, especially the sushi, Beef Don, Katsu Curry Don, and Sukiyaki. The menu highlights their complete dinners, but the rice bowls and other "ala carte" items are a much better value and often the same food. The Beef Don is the only thing you can get in Seattle that is similar to the beef bowls that are offered in Tokyo in quick-bite joints such as Yoshinoya. (If you've been to a Yoshinoya in the US their food is much worse than Japan's in my experience.) Nigiri sushi can be had for about $1 per piece. They'll prepare rolls that aren't on the menu if you ask (nicely). You can pick up a rice bowl to go for about $5. Seating can get tight on weekends, especially if you have more than two people. My parents (who grew up in Taiwan) love Japanese food and are always complaining about the high prices and needless fancy decorations and formal atmosphere of "good" Japanese restaurants in the US. The countless teriyaki shops around here are too fast-food and don't offer much of a selection, and no sushi. Hana falls perfectly in between, with great food, a full menu, low prices and fast service. My folks absolutely love it, as do I.
Pros: Great sushi and rice bowls. Low prices. Informal atmosphere.
Cons: Parking can be tricky on Broadway on weekends and evenings.

I went here with some Japanese buddies and we had a great time. We ordered tons of food had excellent service from friendly servers. I highly recommend this spot on Broadway - I think it's just about the best sushi value in Seattle.
Pros: Excellent sushi preparation, some harder to find dishes are available
Cons: Parking can be difficult in this part of town - take a bus or walk!

Hana's food are not bad, and the price is reasonable. We always go there for lunch~ however, the cashier (one girl with dark skin & short height, age b/t 35-45 with curly hair), she's sooooooooo mean~ she treats customer very bad, and that's one reason i swear to god i'll never go to eat at hana again. one day i went there for lunch with my friend and we were about ready to go, we asked the server to come (all servers are busy since they only have TWO servers). so we asked her to come and help us to get check. SHE WAS LIKE, actting so mean and cold, showing "the most unrepectful look" to her customers. SHE EVEN THROW OUR FORTUNATE COOKIES INTO TRASH CAN JUST IN FRONT OF US!!! it's unbelieable that they treat their loyal customers this way. we've made a decision right away that we will never go eat at hana AGAIN!!
Pros: food are cheap
Cons: cashier is ugly and mean( dark skin with curly hair), overall BAD BAD BAD service!

I was invited by a friend a few years ago to go to Broadway's Hana's. Since then, I've gone there for sushi whenever I can. I go at least once a month, if not more. I love the food and the service. The sushi is made by a genuine Japanese chef. Yes, the food is authentic. The price is right. The building is unpretentious. The reason it's always busy is because of the service and the good quality of food. I love to get the fresh vegetable sushi rolls. I think the shrimp sushi and tako sushi is fantastic.
Pros: The food & service is fantastic!
Cons: The building is unpretentious & humble.
