I loved my experience at 35th Street Bistro. The servers were very nice and took great care of my friend and I. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was romantic and relaxing. Even if you aren't hungry it's a great place to sit and enjoy wine with a friend. We will be back! :)

The first time my wife and I dined here we ordered a ribeye and instead we were served a NY strip with no explanation. We were then given a gift certificate in an effort to keep our business. Six months later we decided to try the bistro again, thinking we would have a better experience. Not a chance. The new owner knows nothing of customer service and deserves to be out of business. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stay away.

As the new owners of the 35th Street Bistro we take all food related illnesses VERY seriously. When I spoke with the guest regarding the food poisoning concern I had asked her to ask her husband what he had eaten and to get back to us so we could keep record of the call. Since I never heard back from her, nor did I receive any other calls regarding illness, I assumed that there was no issue. The Health Department reports sited in the review are from October of 2007 and October of 2008. In February of 2009 my husband and I purchased the Bistro and invested a lot of money into a new kitchen with all new equipment so that we can not only meet but exceed Health Department regulations. I am sorry that the guest who is reporting the food poisoning felt that it was necessary to post her concern on the internet as we would have been more than willing to listen to her further had we been aware that she was so unsatisfied with the response she received when she called.

wine list. Nice cheese plate. Excellent raviolli. And yes, great frites and
a wonderful burger. An easy choice for a romantic dinner or a great

Horrible service. Our waitress came over to take our order, and when we had ordered one apetizer, she ran off (I'm a vegetarian, he's French---we order a lot of unshared items). Next, she comes back to fill the rest of our order, and when we tell her we'll need a few minutes, she never comes back. Really. Finally, I flagged her down to ask for a salad to be served while he eats his escargot. It comes, but she never asks us what we want for entrees, or for drinks (just tap water so far). We ate our apetizers, and towards their end, she brought us bread. Then came back 15 minutes later and asked if we wanted dessert. We asked for the check. Funny, unlike other servers, she didn't put a review card in our check fold. If the service wasn't bad enough, the food wasn't that great, either. The escargot dish was too heavy (a Frenchman knows when there's too much butter--- and that hardly ever happens).
Too bad... we'd had good dessert and drinks there before and were looking forward to a good meal.
An update (though I posted the same comment on this): I saw the comment added by the management of 35th St Bistro and emailed the manager to confirm the time that we went, the table we sat at, even the name the check was paid under. I emailed them on the 27th, yet still haven't received an email response. Regardless, they still received the comment card we left with the hostess, had my email address on it, and no response from that, either. I think they were more interested in posting a public comment than actually remedying the experience. I would have liked to have given 35th St Bistro a 2nd chance and given them a good review, but the lack of a personal response makes it unlikely.

I've eaten at 35th St. twice in the past two weeks and both times, I've come away raving about the place. Last week I had an amazing Seared Foie appetizer that just blew me away. I followed that with the Steak au Poivre which was also terrific.
This place is rapidly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Living two blocks from it may prove to be dangerous....
Check it out, let me know what you think.

I've had a passionate relationship with this burger for a year now, and have tried to challenge it, but nothing comes close. What do you think?
I'll add that service can be good to fair - not standout, not horrible - and since my focus is on the food (though I also love the ambience), it's the burger that's a solid 5.
