Editorial Review

by Contributor at Citysearch, March 02, 2008

Located below Wild Ginger, this former vaudeville theater is beautifully reborn as a classy music venue and cocktail bar.
The Scene
Located across from Benaroya Hall and downstairs from Wild Ginger, this high-end jazz venue draws a distinctly well-heeled crowd. After work, Triple Door is a movers-and-shakers spot for appetizers and delicious cocktails, although there's surprisingly little snobbery amid the suits and schmoozing. Appreciative crowds gather later on for musical performances in the beautifully renovated, 1920s-era vaudeville theater.

The Draw
In the theater, expect intimate and comfortable seating, personable dining service, and a world-class sound system. The upstairs bar--called the "Musicquarium" because of the giant fish tank at the entrance--is an inviting place to meet friends or scope out well-groomed singles in their mid-30s to 50s. Order a bottle of wine, a few Asian-fusion treats from the menu, and the stage is set for a great evening.

This place is the best for music in all of Seattle.

I've seen Beck at Benaroya, but nothing compared to Jose Gonzalez and Jake Shimabukura at the Triple Door. It's too bad someone like Neil Young doesn't do a show at a place like this. More >

I sometimes come here to listen to music on a slow weekend - it's free, it's not too bad, and there's a good amount of places to sit. The main reason I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of more... More >
