Yahoo hosted a private event for some Gnomedexers last night and were nice enough to invite me. The setting was nice and private; service was great (and very invisible), and the food was solid. Overall, this is a very good place for a group of 20 people or so to have a private dinner.

I love Tulio. It's located in the beautifully restored Vintage Park hotel, which is one of Seattle's best and underrated hotels. The menu is decidedly Tuscan - and more than that, it's really, really good! Do not miss the pancetta wrapped dates stuffed with gorgonzola (on the antipasti menu) - they are to die for. Each time I've been here the food has been out of this world and the service has been fabulous. I really enjoy the cozy and warm atmosphere and decor.

Tulio's was described to me as being warm, cozy, intimate white-linen Italian. The words that come to mind when I think about my dinner there last night are, overcrowded and intimate - so intimate that I could easily overhear the conversation going on at the table next to me, and I was cold, but I'm always cold so I won't hold that against them. And yes the tables were covered in white linen, however they were all hidden under a piece of white paper. Paper isn't intimate to me, nor is it warm.
I think we had the last reservation for a 5:30 dinner on a Wednesday night - most people were there for their pre-theater dinner so that is why it was so packed. Might be better to go on a different night. The people there for the theater were definitely given the star treatment, they all received a special dish before their meal, which we were not offered. I probably would have been ok with it if I wasn't surrounded by all these people getting special pre-theater treats right in front of me. Again I don't recommend going on a theater night - unless you are going to the theater, than you should definitely go!
While the service and set up don't warrant a 5 star - the food definitely does. I thought the food was amazing! I ordered the spring onion soup, the chicken lemon risotto - this was amazing, very flavorful! I also had the Italian spoon cheese cake, which unfortunately I was too full to enjoy.
They offer valet parking for $7 if you are dining at Tulio. I'm definitely going to go back for the food, just not on a theater night!
