The quality of food that comes out of the tiny kitchen tucked next to the bar is an absolute marvel. The size of the kitchen may be the reason for the limited menu but it allows a certain focus. From the Cheese Plate to the Filet to the New Mac to the fresh catch of the day... their ingredients are fresh from the market upstairs and the food is excellent. So relax, have a cocktail, a glass of wine and don't forget to eat.

I think Chris said it best in an earlier review - you totally feel like an insider just finding this place. Tucked in an alley in the corner of Pike Place market, the Alibi Room is cool, but not overly hip bar. We stopped by for a light dinner and a few drinks and enjoyed ourselves. The service is awful though - very slow. Apparently they used to have a great view of the sound, but the windows now overlook a newly constructed wall.
On the way out, make sure to check out the wall in the alley that is filled with gum.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. I had heard such great stories about it. The few times I have gone there, I have had to wait way too long for service. My worst experince was my first when I walked in alone with the intention of having dinner there. I was seated and then I waited. 30 or so minutes later and I had yet to order.

It's tough to find a place in Seattle that has great drinks, good food and a credible dance/club scene, but isn't actually a club. There's only one place I know that meets this decription, and it's the Alibi Room, located under the Pike Place Market in the lower end of Post Alley.
From its alley location and easy-to-miss entrance, the Alibi has an appealingly understated, speakeasy feel. The main level offers a small bar area and a 15-20 table dining room, with windows overlooking the Sound. Donwstairs is a small dance club, staffed on weekends by solid DJs, generally spinning house/electronica (check to make sure there's a DJ scheduled for the night you plan to go).
Overall, the Alibi has a welcoming vibe - not too hip for everyday folk to enjoy, but defintely not a dopey B&T joint. The drinks are well-crafted, the food is solid (especially the fries), and the hideaway location adds to the feeling that you're in on a Seattle secret. Check it out.

Being a film geek and a film industry professional full time I do kind of have a bias when it comes to the Alibi Room. I love the atmosphere the setting, the kind of hidden away feel and the hints of exclusivity.
What I don't like is the fact that they don't carry basic liquor like Captain Morgan. I am the furthest thing from a "frat boy" that you will ever find, matter of fact I rather despise them and take great pleasure in mocking them when they are drunk and rubbing up on each other, but I drink only Captain Morgan. Apparently, as pointed out by a fellow reviewer, Alibi seems to think that drinks like Captain and Jack are for "frat boys", so I am left trying to decide what to drink half the night.
Drink prices are a little high but they are good pours. Food prices are a little high but the food is amazing. The staff is kind and fairly social but they do manage to hang on to that "holier than thou" attitude unless you drop $100 in tips.
Great place to eat lunch, get away from the crowds. Great place to see and be seen. For those who like to get work done in a great setting this is also a great place to write, work on that pitch, or just plain read a book.

Have been on two occasions. The first while waiting to hit an improv show across the alley (sadly, the show was terrible and we quickly made our way back to the Alibi) and the second with some friends from out of town. There's a nice assortment of art on the walls, and a lot of dark wood furniture. Even though it's rather dark throughout the bar, it feels very comfortable and is a fun place to grab a drink. It's located in the lower end of the Post Alley (Aly) next to the market.
