Stopped in at the Queen City Grill for a drink recently and found it just OK.
The decor is nice, candles on the table & bar were a nice touch, the music they had playing was enjoyable enough, and my glass of wine was a very generous pour.
So what was the problem?
Well, every employee in the place was drinking except the poor guy behind the grill who was whipping up other patrons' meals.
The manager and bartenders had a loud and adolescent conversation right in front of us about who said what to the women at the end of the bar about whom.
Also, my friends and I weren't pounding drinks down, and one of the bartenders was giving us a hard time about it. ("Can I get you another glass of water to go with your first round, ladies?" "Still on your first round?" "Big drinkers, huh?") I mean, c'mon now.
There are better places to stop in for a drink.
