I'm sorry, but normally I wouldn't bag on a restaurant like this, but Le Pichet is trying too hard to typify the poor-service, aloof Parisian cafe etiquette. I spent 3+ years in Europe and a fair amount of time in France, and all I could do was laugh. Let's see if we can charge you for overpriced french cafe food and scoff that you can't read the menu and actually have the nerve to ask for a translation. Sorry lady, ne pas être ridicule, vous êtes américain! Did I write that correctly? The place is packed though, because the atmopshere is spot-on and it really is quite charming. Just lose the attitude.
Yep. Just did it. Wrote a bad review. Food C+, Service D-.

Somewhat hidden in plain sight, Le Pichet is a very cute French Bistro on the edge of Bell town and Pike place market. They chef seems to love 'organs', as they were featured in a number of dishes.
We enjoyed sitting outside on the small patio, although the interior was both cute and warm.
We greatly enjoyed the cured meats plate, which featured several carefully cured meats, and also gave us our first excuse to try beef tongue. Our group sampled several dishes, but the standout was certainly the grilled chicken with sausage. The pork leg was a little mealy and difficult to eat through.

We sat at the counter at le pichet at the back of the restaurant which gave us a great view of the restaurant for people watching. There was a man sitting next to us, alone and comfortable which I thought was cool for a 'nicer' restaurant. I loved my appetizer, creamy seafood served in a skillet and a glass of dry champagne. My main course was tuna which was served overdone which was annoying because the waiter had gone out of his way to make sure how I wanted it prepared but then didn't "deliver". The dessert was this obscene quantity of very good mousse which we took 1/2 of home. I will go back.

I have never had a bad meal at Le Pichet. I have had many lunches there and dinner once. Usually the service is decent, occasionally frosty and a bit slow. However, I have to give it a really high rating because I love the food and atmosphere. And, it's cheaper than a round trip ticket to Europe.

This quaint little cafe is a favorite spot of ours when we want to escape the hustle & bustle of life. They serve an outstanding continental breakfast. I often have a chocolate croissant, yogurt and cafe au lait. My husband loves their baguette with house made jam (different each time), dried sausage, and cafe au lait. On summer weekends get there early in the morning (before 9) for a table. A few outdoor tables are available in summer. Metered street parking is available around the area.
