I think the Red Mill has by far the best burgers
I have ever tasted, let alone just in Seattle.
The parking is tricky but the burgers are
worth the wait. Especially the cheeseburger
with onion rings.

There are 2 Red Mill Burgers in Seattle--one in Interbay (Between Queen Anne, Magnolia, and Ballard) and the other in Wallingford. I've only visited the one in Interbay (it was 2 blocks from my house) and after I visited the first time, I had to visit again and again and again.
Great food...HUGE burgers with tons of toppings and home-made fries and onion-rings for sides. They have tons of shakes available, and the prices are SO reasonable for the food you get. The burgers are as big as dinner plates and you get a hearty ordering of fries.
Watch out, though, they don't take credit cards, so make sure you have cash on you. Also, during lunch time there is an awesome wait and there's not alot of seating. Call ahead and place your order if you're not for waiting in line.
Also, they'll kick you out if you use a cellphone inside the building. They have a sign posted NO CELL PHONES, and the employees are NOT shy about walking up to someone chatting and telling them to take it outside
PROS: Great food! Great prices! All homemade
CONS: Cash only, no credit/debit cards, no talking on cellphones inside

I read a review that refered to the onion rings as just "OK". Let it be known that these are the best onion rings in the seattle area. They are battered in a unique cornmeal batter that is unmatchable. Plan ahead becuase this place isn't a very well kept secret and teh lines are often very long.

Can't think of one better. Made to order, fresh beef, cheese, purple onions, lettuce and tomato with "Red Mill Sauce" which I suspect is ketchup mixed with mayo and maybe a little Thousand Island. Shakes are top notch with fresh ingredients added.
Fries and onion rings are just ok. Chicken sandwiches here are surprisingly juicy, not the typical dry rubber chicken you see in most chicken sandwhiches.
Pros: Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, Fresh Shakes

Clutch the peals, this place is the best burger joint in Seattle! Their onion rings are worth every fat gram, and the Verde buger (even chicken or veggie options as well) is divine. NO crappy, soggy bun, wilty lettuce, nasty, heat-lamp food here. There is always a line, but it's amazingly fast service, and while they may not have time to chat up the customers, I've never been treated less than courteously. Take the food to go and head the short drive distance to Greenlake.
Pros: Food, Speed, Location
Cons: Lack of Seating
