I agree that these are some of the best burgers around. I am a HUGE fan of the veggie burger as well as the bacon burgers (did you see that huge stack of bacon?) and the whole chicken breast sandwiches are awesome as well. These along with the tasty fries (plenty) and onion rings (you don't get enough of these) and tasty shakes like the Creamsicle flavor and I'm in heaven. I've gotta stay away from the shakes but splitting a fry with someone and having a burger is a good way to go. Lower cal/fat option for a shake is to stop by Starbucks next door and get a frap. When I had stopped eating meat for 9 years Red Mill gave me my fix with their veggie burgers, which I still consider one of the top in the city. The other option is the black bean burger at 74th Street Ale House just up off Greenwood from the Phinney Red Mill location. MMMMmmmmmmmm..... Oh, yeah, keep in mind they are closed on Mondays.

Red Mill located near Interbay Park and Field, is a nice alternative to the regular fast food restaurants when going out for burgers and fries. Almost everytime when I go there on the weekend for food its always packed they have a nice look an feel to the restaurant although not many places to sit and enjoy their burgers you can always take it to go and sit at the near by park or outside. In my opinion they have if not one of the best orders or onion rings and delicious thick milk shakes. Actually when im in the neighborhood I would have to say I go there for either Burgers which is usually the same Redmill Deluxe Bacon Cheese Burger and or a Chocolate milkshake. I would recommend this place if you have already eaten at the similar places like Herfy’s or Zesto’s. To avoid the big crowds, is to avoid lunch time or when there are big park games near by.

The special sauce is original, and the way to go is to keep it simple: Red Mill burger, add bacon, with fries and a coke. Or, order the double with cheese AND bacon. mmmmm. Now, you might be thinking you know a better burger in Seattle. You'd be wrong. How do I know Im right? 7 out 10 burger eaters in the greater Seattle region have voted Red Mill the best for 87 years. The fries are way above average as well. The coke, well, its coke. nothin too special.

If you want the best burger in town, you'll find it here. You know it's great when you can't find a parking place or seat! Always worth the long wait in line or trip around the neighborhood to find a parking spot. Be sure to bring cash or your checkbook, no plastic here.

I am certain that Red Mill Burgers has THE best hamburgers on this planet. Or at least they're in the top 5. The serving sizes are huge, and everything is made to order. When you get your food, it will be piping hot, no doubt. The lines can get long at lunchtime and there isn't alot of room to sit. You may have anticipated being able to go to Red Mill and eat in, but if you go during the wrong time of day you will have to eat in your car. Parking spaces are not numerous either, but then again, this is Seattle. They do not accept credit cards, and don't have an ATM on site. THey do take cash and check, however. Do not even think about talking on your cellphone while in the restaurant. They (the workers) will come up to you and tell you (not ask) that you either leave the restaurant, or stop chatting. That's fine, though. I don't mind not having to hear my neighbor's lunchtime conversation about his recent colonoscopy. Call ahead if you plan on take away. It's faster and you don't have to stand in line. They have a menu that spans everything from chicken to burgers to veggie burgers. Tons of milkshakes in nearly every flavor on the planet. Very good locally owned place. When you go there, you're around locals who shun the big-time burger joints for a place that is inexpensive AND good.

To me, most hamburgers taste the same. Wherever you go there seem to be just minimal differences and one never really stands out from another- except in two cases. For those lucky enough to try an In-N-Out Burger [located in California and Nevada (and Oregon?)] that reigns supreme for me. There's something about spending $2.50 and getting an incredible "animal style" hamburger that just blows my mind. The second best burger would have to be Red Mill Burger. And since there are no In-N-Out's here...Red Mill takes the cake here in Seattle. They offer real meaty burgers with thick slices of bacon, crunchy lettuce and the perfect amount of mayo and ketchup. You honestly cannot get a better burger in Seattle. Each burger is cooked to order - there's no prewrapped burger waiting to be handed to you. All the Red Mills are located in neighborhood areas so its probably just locales dining there most of the time. And another great thing about Red Mill...they have a no cell phone rule. So turn off your D@MN phone!

Red Mill is, without a doubt, the best burger in Seattle. The onion rings are also some of my favorites - yummy cornmeal batter. The atmosphere is super laid back and the prices are reasonable. You can guarantee a line almost any time of the day - but it is well worth it!
