I like 13 coins for the purposes of people watching. You get some odd folks rolling into this place!
The food is better than youd think and the waitstaff is always very attentive.
The decor is REALLY outdated but hey thats what makes the 13 coins what it is.
A late night dive.

13 coins is the only restaurant i know, ever, that serves great food anytime of the day or night. the menu includes new york steak to the king salmon. very unlikely to find in the late eves of the night. the place itself, is such a suitable place for the young 21 and older crowd. there are booths for the privacy for each party. and the tables are candle lit. the feel of the restaurant is like the good 'ol western days. so, cowboys and cowgirls, grab your hats and taste some luxurious food at 13 coins!

I don't think you'll find a better 24/7 offering within western Washington. My wife and I are 'regulars' at the Sea-Tac location and have always enjoyed taking at a seat at the chef's counter (1-6) for an amazing experience. The waitstaff are quick, fun and precise in delivering great service/food. The managers make sure they take care of any issue on the spot and the chefs prepare some amazing dishes (especially at 3:30 a.m.)! Where else can you munch on oysters and sip Opus One at that time of day?!
Pros: waitstaff, ambience, wine list
Cons: long wait (dinner)

I have dined at many, many restuarants in Seattle and I have never has so much fun as I did at 13 Coins. My girlfriend and I went there after hearing the ads on KZOK and I must say it was terrific. I ordered the Crab Cakes for my appetizer and my girlfriend started with the prawn cocktail. Both were perfect. For our entrees I had Steak David and she had the salmon, both absolutely amazing. Be sure to ask for the big chairs in front of the chef's. Its a hoot!
Pros: Great Food, Free Parking, High Back Chairs
Cons: No Coors Light!

I've dined at 13 Coins a couple of times, generally for late night dining. I have found the service to be consistently inattentative and rude. The prices are on the high side. Don't expect to be seated promptly if you go for late night dining. The food is mediocre at best. The parking is plentiful, though a bit sketchy. The atmosphere is great, and the booths are conducive to privacy and late night chats. Without question, this restaurant is one of the most overrated ones in Seattle - avoid it.
Pros: Atmosphere, Parking, Late Night
Cons: Rude Service, Value, Waitstaff

Basically an upscale 24-hour diner with average food and mediocre (at best) service. We waited at least 15 minutes after being seated to get a menu or get our drink orders taken. Finally a waiter appeared with menus. The food was nothing special. Entrees ranged from about $13 to $45. Appetizers about $12 to $15. After the meal, the waiter pulled a "rush job" to get us out. For a place with so many high-priced menu items I would expect much, much better service.
Pros: nice interior
Cons: slow service, mediocre food

I recommend the Steak Sinatra (always order dishes named for musicians). Almost everything on the menu is overpriced, but your only other choices for 24 hr dining downtown are Minnie's Cafe and The Hurricane.
Very attentive excellent waitstaff.
Pros: decent food, atmosphere, chairs
Cons: , hard to find

Do you like standing around for ungrateful staff, then you will love the 13 Coins. Misguided by co-workers I took my wife there after a show, three other couples suffered along with us for over half an hour while waiting for hostess to finally decide the mostly empty booths could be occupied. Our server with an attitude came by after another 20 minutes handed us menus and then impatiently stood waiting to take our order. The food when it arrived was dropped by the same server, the re-done order showed up an hour later, promptly followed by the bill before we even took our first bite. This establishment likes to put on a showy face but prefers to treat people like theyre at a McDonalds but with much higher prices. BEWARE this place unless you enjoy waiting around for a dawdling attitude-ridden staff.
Pros: NONE
Cons: , poor staff
