I have been dining at Cutters for more than 15 years and I return for the same reasons! Service, Menu choices and great food. The menu selection is diverse and well executed. Rather someone in the group wants seafood, a steak, or pasta there are choices for everyone. I also love the Sushi here, very fresh. My extended family lives in Everett and I can always get them into Seattle if the plan is dining at Cutters! They can't resist the smoked salmon chowder. The service is consistant, every single time. I always feel my needs are met, often even before I ask for something. And I can't forget to mention my favorite guilty pleasure at Cutters . . . Bread Pudding. They have the BEST bread pudding in the entire city. Really the best I have ever had anywhere in my travels. Highly recommended. Period. Pros: menu choice, service, great wine menu Cons: parking can be challenging. I park under the building since the neighborhood isn't the best.

Cutters Bayhouse is a hip tourist spot in the Emerald City with sweeping views of Elliot Bay. They provide a wonderful van service to Seahawks football games on Sundays, as well as a shuttle between major Seattle hotels and the restaurant. Cutters specializes in seafood, with favorites including crab, salmon, and halibut. They also utilize nearby markets such as Pike's place in order to gather their ingredients, which I find to be a major plus. Additionally, the service was delightful and welcoming, particularly at the front desk. Prices are high, but the food, atmosphere, and friendly staff will make your trip here worth it.

This is a great restaurant I went to while at a meeting in Seattle. It was recommended by the concierge at The Westin Seattle. Cutters' van picked us up at the hotel and drove us home after dinner. The restaurant is right on the water - atmosphere can't be beat. Food was excellent and service top notch. I hope to get a chance to come back before the week is out!

This place has twice now given me some of the worst service I have ever experienced. After 45 min went by after ordering soup/salad combo (both myself and my guest), the waitress kept coming by to fill up our water but never once mentioned anything like, "it's on its way" or "sorry for the delay." Finally I kind of looked at my watch and glanced at her and she said, "oh I wanted to ask you, did you want chicken on your salad?" !?! I couldn't believe it. By the time our food got there we had been there an hour and half. They did comp our meals for the inconvenience. I swore I wouldn't be back. But, I ended up there again on a work lunch. Again the same waitress. We ordered right when we sat down, and again we all had a soup/salad combo and she said she'd be right out with our drinks and some bread. 15 min later we got water. 15 min later our ice teas. 15 min later our starter bread. Then ONE of the three people got her soup. She ate it. The empty bowl sat there. 30 min later we got our meals and she got the rest of her meal. No apologies or explanations! Same weird attitude. The view is gorgeous, the food is fine, the price is a little above average, the service is atrocious and the music is terrible. This place would sink in a second if it weren't for the view. I will never be back unless i have to for work, and if so, I'm speaking up immediately about being on a time crunch and needing to be informed if things are going to be delayed. What a waste of a beautiful spot for a restaurant. So disappointing. Pros: View Cons: SERVICE, atmosphere, music, seating arrangement, long wait even though restaurant empty...

I went to Cutter's last night with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We had a great salmon dinner with heirloom tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. I had the strawberries & greens salad dressed with white balsamic vinaigrette--delicious! Daughter had fettucine alfredo from the children's menu, which she liked. The waiter was friendly and related well to our little girl, even though he was very busy. She had fun! We went there fairly early for dinner midweek, and the place was hopping! I disagree with what this other person said. I don't think Cutters is anything like "Joe's Crab Shack". I had a delicious crab there with my husband and he never eats crab! The staff was indeed friendly and the view was wonderful. Their salad was wonderful and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. Even after a rich meal, we still had room for the wonderful choice of deserts. My husband and I had a great time there and we look forward to another visit. Pros: Good food with consistent preperation. Cons: A little pricy.

I'm amazed by what I've read here. I can only assume folks with a vested interest in the place are writing these reviews. Pros: the view is nice, if you're seated at the window. The staff is VERY friendly and efficient. Cons: I was very disappointed overall; "Cutter's" is like a "joe's crab shack"-style franchise, only with a veneer of classiness--various affectations in place of dangling lobster pots etc., or Joe's Jimmy-Buffet theme. We were made to wait in line, I think to create the illusion that we were about to enter an exclusive place, even though there were open tables all over the restaurant. My food was acceptable, but not for the price range. The "fresh-baked focaccia" was a flattened sort of white bread with garlic powder and margarine smeared on it. I got the seafood grill and an order of mussels. They were unobjectionable, but nothing too special...just good. If you regularly drop 40+ bucks for a meal, you'll be happy to chow down with others of your class here. Cologne-soaked shirt-tie-and-a-smile guys and tourists--suburban and out of town alike--abound, late into the evening. The eating--not dining--atmosphere is cafeteria-like. The "open kitchen" wasn't the problem--it was the horde of hungry diners cramming their faces with food. I saw food fall out of a guy's mouth while he was yakking and shovelling, and a woman dribble something on herself. The atmosphere almost demands it. So if you're looking for a nice dinner out, definitely go elsewhere. For the $20-40 an entree range you can do WAY better in Seattle, and you won't come out feeling somehow cheated. The Cutter's business model is based on the middle class presumption that if you're paying more, it must be better. You are, but it's not. Pros: windows, palatable food Cons: It's Denny's Plus

i would like to clear up some issues i've read about in the reviews regarding parking. partial parking validation is available when you park at the Market Place garage below cutter's. go west (toward the water) down lenora st., past western ave. (past cost plus on the right). it looks like a dead end, but you can take a left into the garage, take the elevator up to cutter's, and bring your ticket up to get stamped. partial validation is 2 and a half hours for $1 if you enter the garage after 4:00pm. enter the garage before 4:00pm, $1 off your total parking fee. be careful not to mix up the Market Place garage with the Market Tower garage (the wrong one, located between 1st ave and western--keep going past western, almost to the viaduct, to the Market Place). cutter's smoked salmon chowder, bloody mary's, and crab cakes are fantastic. i dine at a lot of different restaurants, and try crab cakes everywhere i go, and i've only ever had better crab cakes one other time. if you are looking for a quiet dinner, be aware though that this place has an open kitchen, and can be busy and energetic (in other words, a bit noisy at times). Pros: view, especially during the day/sunset, and crab cakes

If you're not in the mood for seafood try their Rosemary Chicken -- it's yummy. The restaurant isn't outrageously expensive -- it is moderately priced for the atmosphere and food. It's a favorite place with students for prom and other special occasions. You will want to get reservations if you're headed there for dinner because it can get crowded. Since the restaurant is downtown parking can be a problem as there isn't much that's available right by the restaurant (you can try a garage).

stopped in for lunch. i have been to cutters several times, and am just reviewing it now. the reason that i keep going back - and dragging friends and family there to boot -- is that it is consistently great. this time i had a bloody mary, which was better than what i could make at home. olives and shrimp came with it as garnish - beautiful. i ordered the pea salad and half of a dungeness crab melt sandwich. lov, love, love the pea salad. i probably order it every time i come here. this time it had a bit too much dressing but still fabulous. the dungeness crab melt sandwich was a new one for me, and i enjoyed every mouthful. service was outstanding. even though cutters is part of a semi-chain - it is still fabulous and well worth the money you pay for the scenery and food. Pros: food and service Cons: part of a sort of chain
