Not for those seeking real authentic mexican, but located in the glorious Pacific Place Shopping Center downtown and more a nice place to go before a movie or in between your shopping stops on the weekend.
This is a nice place and due to the location it is always full yet as stated the food is pretty standard eats as far Mexican Restaurants in Seattle.
We usually eat here before heading to the theater one floor up and I would recommend the Fajitas for two for you and your date :)

A great place to really enjoy Mexican food. I'm not sure how authentic it is and really don't care. The food is darn good! I'm from the Southwest and these guy's seem like serious restaurant dudes or dudets? I've been told you have to eat there but it's a different style of Mexican. I eat out a lot & this it for me when it comes to Mexican cuisine.
Enchiladas are off the chart! Go for the chicken enchiladas with the cream sauce. Maragaritas are good too!
Pros: enchiladas, friendly staff, margaritas

On Mexico's menu there are the items that the American diner expects - tacos and enchiladas (spectacular sauces), but there are also some unusual plates that are fantastic. All of the fish entrees are divine. There's salmon cooked with sugar cane and a delicious blackened mahi mahi plate with margarita sauce....it's worth making Mexico a destination on the weekend.

Have been here several times. Salmon, chicken, salads, enchiladas are all good. This time (June 12) I wanted steak. Waiter recommended the carne asada, which I ordered medium rare. It came medium well. By the time I got the attention of the waiter and he took it back to have it re-cooked, everyone else was done with their meal. So I asked him to just box it up (it never made it to the table). When I opened it the next night for dinner, it was a different (cheaper, smaller) cut of meat, butterflied and cooked well/burnt. Apparently they don't understand the word "rare" in the kitchen. Stick with the non-beef items and you'll be happy.
Pros: Drinks (margs), Ambiance, Most food
Cons: Beef dishes

Restaurants within malls aren't usually great, and this place isn't great, but it has a few goodies that keep me coming back. The pomegranate margarita is small yet delicious and highly recommended! The chimichangas are not overdosed with sauce or toppings, but are rich enough to be a tastey filler. Other plates, however, are on the bland side. The tamales are unfilling and lack any flavor. The nachos are large with drops of chicken and covered with cheese, but lack any mouth-watering "zest." I was promptly seated and the environment is fine for either a date or a group of friends. The relaxing environment and friendly service are nice, but you end up paying for it with everything slightly overpriced. I hope the chef "kicks it up a notch" because the most mouth-watering thought of this place is the chips & salsa.
Pros: margaritas, environment
Cons: bland entrees

I've eaten at Mexico several times now, and am consistently impressed with the freshness of the food. The Chop Taco Salad comes stock with heaps of avocado, flank steak, roasted red peppers, and a black bean cumin vinagrette I've not been able to replicate at home. The Ahi Tun Flores, cooked rare as it should be, was tender and more than filling with veggies cooked to perfection. The food is great, the service good, and the location is something you can live with. Oh, did I mention the pomegranite margarita?

You'd think by the name that this would be authentic Mexican food, but it's not... it's the Californian version of your favorites. It's not bad, but it's like "new-age" Mexican food, and that's not my cup of tea. Sangria is extra fruity and wine-y, not highly recommended.
Pros: Quick Service, Chips and Salsa
Cons: , No Parking Validation

The first time I ate at Mexico was during the holiday season. The place was packed and we waited a long time to get a seat. The food was good but it took too long. After hearing some positive things , I decided to try it again and had a great experience. A group of us stopped by on a Friday afternoon and were thrilled to find that they have a great happy hour with both food and drink specials. We didn't want to wait for a table so we decided to eat in the bar and the bartender gave us great service (he was cute too!) I would recommend taking a second look at Mexico. Both the food and the sevice were exceptional this time.
Pros: great happy hour, great food, best margaritas
