This fantastic pan-asian restaurant is high class, yet doesn’t charge ultra-high-class prices for the excellent food they serve. The atmosphere is modern and the restaurant itself is quite large. All of the five dishes we ordered were delicious, and the waiter was very polite and attentive to our table, which I greatly appreciated.

My folks were in town and we went to one of our old standbys-Wild Ginger, for lunch. It was a slow time, and although the portions were huge, the food was rather uninspired and also too spicy.

Wild Ginger used to be my favorite place for a yummy dinner back before they moved to their current location. When they moved, their quality took a serious dive (over cooked crab, etc.) and it's been years now inching its way back to what it once was. My favorites are the street hawker beef sate (amazing), aromatic duck (like peking but different seasonings) and crab (after 3 instances of overcooked crab I stopped ordering this one). This is one of those places in Seattle that you must try and if you didn't eat there years ago, you won't know what you're missing!

I have never been disapointed with a meal at Wild Ginger. The food is always wonderfully seasoned and prepared and the staff is courteous and the service swift. The prime downtown location makes this one of the businest restaunants in town, especially at peak lunch and dinner hours. I highly reccommend making reservations unless you want to scrunch into the small lobby area and wait for 20 minutes.

Trendy, delicious, and great ambience. Portions are kind of small, and entrees are pricey, but it's a great restaurant. Pan - Asian, and the food is delicious.
PROS: Delicious
CONS: Pricey

I'm still a bit nostalgic for Wild Ginger's old space, but once the food arrives at the table that feeling fades fast. The delicate flavors and aromas are as fantastic as ever. I challenge you to find anything on the menu that isn't palate pleasing, but I strongly recommend the Seven Flavor Beef. I love this dish! The service is lightning fast, which is remarkable considering the size of the place. Dinner at Wild Ginger is always something special.

When I moved to Seattle in 1994, Wild Ginger was a local favorite, hidden away underneath and south of Pike Place Market, with an unusually eclectic Asian menu. Over the years, it seemed to become more popular, he quality of the food seemed to decline, and I stopped going. I once went there after work on a weekday night and the place was so crowded with singles that we could barely hear ourselves eat.
But then Wild Ginger moved to a cavernous new space (actually, a renovated old theater) on Third Avenue across the street from Benaroya Hall, and it miraculously changed. The bar (now quite separate from the main room) still hops, but the feeling of space is overwhelming and luxurious. Best of all, the food is better than ever, and it keeps getting better. I'm particularly partial to the curries and the marinated lamb, if they're offering it. But you really can't go wrong. They also have a pretty good kids menu (though you'd never expect it), so it's an excellent way to take an extended family out. It's one of my favorites in Seattle.

Want to get into a good argument in Seattle? Bring up the Wild Ginger at a dinner party. Seattelites love or hate this restaurant. First the facts: Wild Ginger is a largish four star fusion food restaurant in downtown Seattle. Now the opinions: many people seem to think that Wild Ginger "sold out" when it moved from its older, smaller location and became a high profile player in the Seattle restaurant scene. It is sometimes called over-rated on the grounds that there are better fusion food restaurants in the world. Personally, I've yet to see another fusion food restaurant I'd want to be seen in. Wild Ginger has a fabulous menu. Dining family style is recommended. Ask your server for advice, as Wild Ginger's specialties are excellent (particularly the duck). A few items are so-so, such as some of the curries.
