Piecora's New York Pizza unfortunately is pretty hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza actually tastes like a slice from New York, other times the pizza is very undercooked and doughy. This has really turned me off recently. I suggest asking for your pizzas to be well done to ensure a proper crust. The standard pizza is a great value, but they get you on drinks, toppings, and salads.

Every afternoon I walk by Piecora's on my way home to make dinner, and it's always a temptation to just slip inside for a quick slice. Piecora's makes an excellent pie. their restaurant reminds me of the pizza places I ate in as a kid, white and red checked table cloths, fountain soda, neon and parmesan and pepper flakes on each table. It's a great place to get together with friends. The calzones are huge and delicious as well.

This is probably your best pizza in Seattle. They also deliver. The restaurant itself has an energetic atmosphere and is a good place to stop for a bit at any time of the day or night. The non-pizza food is so-so at best, but then again, this IS a pizza place. Only one size pizza is availble (though slice or half sizes can be purchased)

I come from Chicago, so I am not really a huge fan of NY pizza in the first place, but hey, you gotta roll with the punches. I still know a good pizza when I eat one, and these pizza's are ok, but nothing special. If you live in Cap hill, don't get them delivered. 3 times in a row, the pizzas came to us all messed up (toppings askew), and on the colder side. I don't know if anyone else has had that experience, but I don't eat there or get pizza delivered anymore.

If you are looking for New York pizza, then go to the Ray's Pizza on the corner of 6th and 12th in Manhattan. We all want it to, but it doesn't exist here. Anywhere. Sometimes if you go long enough after eating at a pizzeria, you might remember it as NY-ish. I did that last night.
I swore I remembered having a NY-worthy slice at Piecora's. I thought about it all week. I made my girlfriend make a special trip with me. I got two slices of cheese and they were positively ... floppy. They got the greasy cheese, but not the crispy crust that makes NY pizza. Also the sauce was tasteless.
So Piecora's is fine. It's not NY. Frankly, I think Pagliacci is more NY. But nothing here really fits the bill, so I've stopped trying. Piecora's really doesn't stand on anything but being NY-like. I would go instead for pizza that is good on its own merits.

Having moved to Seattle from New York, I was initially dismayed by the lack of pizzerias making good NY Style Pizza. However, I have found one place that truly qualifies as a good NY Style pizzeria, Piecora's Pizzeria on E. Madison on Capital Hill. With puffy outer crust, tapering to a thin, crisp middle, topped with lots of great tomato sauce and an abundance of cheese, Piecora's pizza has found a solid formula. While it is not Ray's in NY, it is the closest thing I have found in Seattle.
While I usually get Piecora's to takeout, they have a restaurant with salads, beers on tap, etc. It is sometimes a bit smoky for my tastes.
