Went there tonight with a friend and ordered half combo, half blue cheese and onion pizza. We got the half combo...the other half never came. When the waiter checked on us, I told him we never received the other order. He walked away. Later came back with the bill, and I mentioned (again), that we never received the other half of our order. His response was: "Well, we didn't charge you for it". And that I was "too nice" to get it. My take is that they didn't want to make it, didn't make it, and the waiter totally blew us off. Piecora's is not the only game in town; I won't be back.

If you are looking for the ever elusive “New York Style” pizza in Seattle, then this may be as good as it gets. The pizza is pretty darn good, in that thin crusted, stripped down New York way. More importantly though, this place is as much a good dive bar as it is a pizza place, which makes it a really good hangout.

In any case, its pretty good pizza. Not the fancy kind like California Pizza Kitchen or kind of west coast like Pagliacci, but pretty good.
Parking there can be a little tricky but its a great neighborhood place.

So this review is a tough one to write. I love the pizza here. Having spent months in New York surviving on pizza, I can say Piecora's does a pretty great job (although the crust is so-so compared with the rest of it). The only thing is... well, the service is hit or miss. Generally hit-or-miss service is not a deal-breaker for me, but when "hit-or-miss" identifies service that involves swears uttered under the host's breath, being seated at a table void of servers and then receiving your pizza from the kitchen cook an hour after everyone around you has, a deal breaker it becomes.
Months ago, a group of friends and I went to Piecora's and received the awful treatment noted above. Although the host later weakly apologized (claiming it had been a rough night), I don't know that any of the drama was warranted; the restaurant staff's anger resulted from my switching a delivery order to a dine-in when a) the pizza had not yet finished and b) when I called to ask if this would cause any inconveniences, the person who answered the phone told us that would be OK. Apparently the person who answered was not qualified to respond to my request, said the waiter. Huh. Regardless of where the breakdown of communication happens at Piecora's, I left feeling awful.
Outside of that rough experience, I've had a few attentive waiters and the rest average. Want a consummate dining experience? I'd head somewhere else.

if you've ever had real new york style pizza, and you go here, you're about to have it again, only thing is you're in seattle, and you can't believe that new york style pizza tastes even better here. the atmosphere is very relaxed. this is a great family restaurant, but also great for groups of friends, or even a cute place to go with that special someone. staff are super polite, and helpful at making suggestions. tip well! this will be the best pizza you ever eat!

Piecora's is by one of the best pizza places in Seattle. You can chose between either individual slices, halfs or whole pizzas. After a long drunken night at any of the clubs around the area, this is the place you need to stop in and get a slice. They are big and hearty peices and they leave you yearning for more.

As a native New Yorker, I was hopeful when I first tried Piecora's Pizza. The Capitol Hill establishment has a sign featuring the Statue of Liberty and proclaiming NY-style pizza. Sadly, it just doesn't make the cut. Although the crust, toppings, and cheese are right on, the sauce is too bland. They need to adjust the seasoning of their sauce; until then it just doesn't meet NY standards. In the meantime, for NY-style pizza try Hot Mama's on Pine street. In the 10+ years that I've lived in Seattle, Hot Mama's is the closest thing I've found the pizza I once enjoyed as a New Yorker.

I was convinced to checkout Piecora's pizza through a number of websites where people seemed to think their NY Pizza was the best pizza in Seattle. Finding myself on a saturday night watching baseball, i'd be stupid not to order pizza, so Piecora's beat out a few known champs and got my business. When I called, the person on the phone was friendly and sounded to be either from NY or Boston. Check. Inside, the atmosphere was very cool with people crowded around tables and in booths and an upstairs balcony section to boot. Check. Finally, the place smelled great. Check. But when we got the pizza back to my place and opened it up, I was immediately wary. Something was off, and while I couldn't consciously figure out what it was, I knew I would find out soon. It took me a couple bites of mild enjoyment to realize that for Piecora's Pizza and Pasta (The pasta might very well be fantastic) the "NY Style" comes in the cheese. The cheese was greesy and delicious, and separated easily from the dough, drawing similarities to many cheap, large slice pizza places in the Big Apple. The dough/crust, however, was the problem. It was crisp and tasteless and lacked the general "pizza dough" nuance that I was looking forward to. Obviously, at first I thought I was crazy and needing another stint at Pizza Addicts Anonymous (AKA The Gym), but my suspicion was echoed a couple minutes later from across the table (let's be honest, we were eating on the floor in front of the television...). Overall, I think Piecora's is a decent pizza that will do the trick in a tight spot, but I would not venture takeout pizza from there again unless baseball was to be had and pizza was needed stat.

Piecora's NY is the best New York style pizza in Seattle. The thin crust, texture of the dough, seasoning of the sauce, and olive oil and cheese are done just right. The combos and toppings are authentic to NY style too (as opposed to the yummy but out there yuppie combinations common to Seattle and California). The restaurant combines an appealingly low key location with a very Seattle tattooed and pierced. Most baked dinner entrées are good too.
