Costas has been a favorite of mine for awhile now, kind of my fallback place when I can't decide what I want. Lately, their food hasn't been as good, though. Their lentil soup is still very yummy.
Service can be sketchy. Sometimes it's great, but usually you have to ask if you want a refill, etc.

Costas is a great place for Greek food, but do not be surprised by the service. The servers are slow and kind of rude. The dining room is a pleasent atmosphere minus the poor customer service. Also, it is very convienent and a nice change from all the Asian restaurants that surround the University of Washington. Enjoy lunch or dinner, and I believe they are even open for breakfast, which is always a plus!

but the service good, and the food great. cozy atmosphere, definitely not your average restaurant... get some wine with your food, its a must. its pretty reasonable as far as price is concerned. good selection of greek / mediterranean food so you should be good to go even if you're afraid of something new - there's stuff that seems foreign, but its simple and tastes great.

At Costas you can find the best eggs benedict around but you might leave home empty handed. I could not finish my meal so I packed most of it in a box and accidentally left without it. I came back literally five minutes later and it was thrown in the trash. The waitress had a bad attitude to begin with and didn't even offer me a replacement meal, considering that most of it was in the trash. A good restaurant would have offered to make me a new meal or better yet, have a thirty minute wait policy before throwing leftovers away before customers have the chance to reclaim them. I'm sorry to say that I will not be dining at this place again. But for those of you who want to try it out, I recommend not getting any of their 'house specialties' or chicken burgers. I would stick to the breakfast menu, which is something that I will miss.

A recent trip to Costa's turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Not quite as authentic-seeming as the Continental (just two stores down), but a welcoming decor made to feel like it is outdoors seating at a real Greek cafe - with plants, and a European roof coming down from the cooking area. The food had good variety, included some Italian options, and was tasty. We got an appetizer and entree for the two of us, and had enough for another person leftover. The only downer was the service. In the waiter's defense, it was late at night on Nov. 2nd and Bush had just been declared for Florida, so he had a reason to be grumpy. However, the waiter never asked us how our meal was, never refilled our water, and basically provided only the minimum of service. Service has to be pretty bad before I notice it is lacking, too.If you want service, see my review on the Continental.
