I love coming to Cafe Lulu's. Enjoy the great coffee, but when you add how nice everyone is and running into folks with good conversation, and interesting artwork - well, I look forward to those rare times when I am not pressed for time, just so I can sip, read, talk and unwind.

Just the right size for a relaxing sit with a latte' and a snack, and even if it's busy, a bit of friendly conversation. Karen is great about providing wall space for local artists and photographers, and it's fun to see the interaction of the neighbors as they mill in and out. Lulu's is the kind of place you hope will never go away, especially if you've been going there for 7 or 8 years like I have! (Some soup or a salad would be nice...)

I've been a "regular" (I hope I'm cool enough to be considered that) for about 9 years. Crazy! Check it out when you have a chance.

all this...Plus...Karen, the owner, is generous in providing local artists a place to show their work. 100 percent goes to the artist.

This is the kind of place you go to every morning on your way to the bus stop, and everybody knows everybody. The owner, Karen, is super-friendly, as are the rest of the staff, and you will always get personal service and have great conversations with the other regulars as you pause briefly for your coffee to be ready.

A typical neighborhood coffee shop with a lot of friendlyness and none of the corporate crap. They tend to cater more toward the morning crowd. Stop in and get a yummy soy latte or whatever strikes your fancy. They're usually closed by 3 PM on weekdays. Great scones and bagles too. It's a small place but worth checking out if you're in the area. We pretty much hit Lulu every morning on the way to the bus. The revolving art collections are interesting, too.

Cafe Lulu is a cute little cafe on Latona (right next to the Latona Tavern) near Greenlake. If you're looking for a snack after a power-walk, this is the place. I just had an egg bagel there (i'm partial to them) and it was delicious. They also serve essential baking pastries and oatmeal and have great coffee. The perfect little neighborhood place.
