Bandeleone is an excellent spanish tapas restaurant located in Fremont. Parking is a bit tricky but once you get settled you can't go wrong -- it's a fun place to dine, food is very good and service is solid. I recommend the clams and the ribs.

I used to eat at their old Eastlake location and I would say that the old building had more charm and was cozier and less loud. But, the food is still VERY good, four of us had a great dinner there last night, cannot tell you how good the broccoli is and I don't really care for broccoli but it's a must have. Forget the entrées and order a bunch of shared plates, on Sunday nights they have a superb 1/2 price wine deal as well. Service was solid and I almost forgot, the pulled pork is off the chart!

This restaurant is a step above casual, good for a nice date or dinner with friends, dining indoor or outdoor. It's right next to the Fremont ave. bridge on 34th. Though not really advertized as such, this is a tapas place. They do have several entrees on the menu, but the real fun stuff are the primeros platos, which the wait staff brings out at the right pace so your party can get through them. Our favorites were the rock shrimp, cheese platter with olives and salad ... and everything else, really. We didn't even have any of the entrees. The other items to recommend include the carrot ginger bisque soup, the Chilean cab on the wine list , and the vanilla flan.

We showed up 5 minutes late for our 6:30 reservation(after calling to let them know), and found a 1/4-full restaurant. We were promptly seated, outfitted with a high chair and forgotten. We sat for 15 minutes, occasionally glancing back at the wait staff and management lallygagging about the cash register-ish area. My normally unfazed husband finally got up and explained that we would be leaving as there could be no justification for seating us without taking even our drink order within the first 15 minutes of our visit. The place was dead. All of the gaping wait staff turned quizzically to look at one tall, handsome waitress as we turned to walk out. They have our phone number should they decide to try to save our business. My guess is that won't be happening. We wound up around the corner at the 35th Street Bistro (see that review) and had the total opposite experience.

I went with a group of friends to this delicious restaurant to celebrate a friend's fortieth birthday. The fun location, near the Freemont bridge and behind the "bus people," was enjoyed by all. We ordered drinks which were well received. We shared family style most, if not all, of the small plates. Some hightlights were the broccoli, the ribs and the clams. I liked the spicy, interesting flavors in combinations that were new to me. Everyone in the group plans to return. This has more of a date night or adult vibe, I don't think I'd bring my kids.
