If you're craving some Southeast Asian cuisine and you're anywhere near Belltown, head to the Noodle Ranch. It gets crowded here during the lunch hour and for good reason! This is some good eats at some great prices. It's nice to have a unique spot amid all the sandwich and fish and chip joints in the city. The Spicy Ranch noodles are delicious!

I'll admit I'm not what you'd call an adventurous eater. Burgers, spaghetti, pretty much anything bland and safe is usually what I eat. Imagine my surprise when I became addicted to Noodle Ranch's Spicy Ranch Noodles. Noodle Ranch is in a tiny space in Belltown on Second Avenue. The interior is sort of trendy, but not offensively so. Unlike so many other Belltown restaurants the waiters are friendly, the portions monsterous, and the price not too terribly bad for what you get. What I get is the Spicy Ranch Noodles. Yakisoba noodles with chicken (or beef or tofu), carrots, onions, broccoli, and zuchinni cooked in ginger, soy sauce, and something that can be really hot, but usually isn't too bad. The cooks are also generous enough to honor requests for "no green stuff" even if they do look at you a bit oddly. In addition to my meal of choice they've got an extensive menu of Pan-Asian cuisine that ought to suit everyone's tastes, though I'm still not sure about the ginger ice cream.

This place rocks. The food is good and cheap, the wait staff are cool and nice and they even offer red bean ice cream. The best dish on the menu however is not to be missed. It is Cha Ca (and for those that prefer tofu to fish, get the mongolian grill- same exact dish). This is a bowl of rice noodles, garnished with fried shallots and a delish piece of battered catfish, topped with cukes, peanuts, cilantro and a delish nuo cham sauce to top it off. This dish takes the prize- others have been okay but bland in comparison. Don't miss it. (We went to Hanoi and ate cha ca at the 100 yr old Cha Ca La Vong and thought Noodle Ranch is doing a hell of job!)
