Truly great Mexican food. I grew up in South Texas, so after being here for 15 years, I'd totally given up on finding any good Mexican food (although Gordito's came close). I enjoy the atmosphere here too, and that the people who work there and own it are just good people and good cooks. Cheap, easy, reliable, tasty, convenient, clean. I'm ever so glad that they have an espresso stand outside and that they have Mexican chocolate!!! I can't seem to do it justice when I'm at home. I hope they stay in business a long time.

I really did NOT want to go kayaking at all on the day that my sister and boyfriend dragged me to Agua Verde for kayaking and dinner. It turned out to be one of the most fun things I've done in Seattle! I've never been kayaking before, but the employees at Agua Verde were really nice and friendly and informative and helpful. It was great! We kayaked around Lake Union and it really wasn't that hard. It was beautiful and really fun! Then we went back and had the best halibut tacos I've ever had at the Cafe. The whole experience was great and I've been back to the Cafe several times since for yummy mexican food and drinks.
By the way, you rent the kayaks by the hour, I believe, and they have special memberships or a club or something you can participate in if you kayak a lot. It wasn't the cheapest thing we could have done that day, but it was so worth it! The next time anyone visits me in Seattle I'm definitely taking them there for kayaking and food!

Agua Verde serves great food -- be it lunchtime meals, appetizers, dinners or to-go options. You can't lose if you go with any of the fish tacos, especially 'el mero' (halibut). Also, the salsas, specifically the chipolte, are awesome! If you need an extra something to go with the meal, order pico de gallo and a serving of guacamole -- the perfect additions! While there is often a wait for a table, the restaurant is definitely worth it and once you are seated, the food arrives quickly! Also visit Agua Verde to enjoy one of several tasty margaritas. (All of which are delicious!) The food and drinks are affordable, but for those watching their spending, come by Agua Verde after the work day to enjoy happy hour specials!

Food was good but not great - I liked the different kinds of salsa that I could sample from. Great view - nice choice for a clear, warm summer day for lunch.

I went here with some friends to try out kayaking in Lake Union. I have never kayaked before, but the staff was very helpful and friendly and the sea kayaks they have for rent were very easy to use and fun to paddle. We went all around Lake Union with some tips from the staff and had a great time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and then next time someone from out of town comes to visit me I am definitely taking them here! It was a little expensive though if you do it a lot they have multiple use passes and packages you could choose. After kayaking, go up to the Cafe for some fantastic Mexican (probalby the best I've had in Seattle - try the halibut tacos!!!) and tasty margaritas! If it is nice out you can sit on the deck. It is can be really crowded though, so be prepared to wait for a table.

There is often a wait, but it's worth it. Try the happy hour. The menu is limited, but great snacks to finish off the work day!

Agua Verde is excellent and therefore very popular. Expect to wait in line. It's a little chaotic to get in there, find the line, put your name down, order drinks, get your table, etc. The restaurant is in a little "beach shack" with multiple small rooms, a deck and a nice screened in porch on the water. The best dish they had, in my opinion, were the shrimp tacos, which they no longer served. I still crave those tacos all the time. All their food is pretty authentic. The salsa bar and margaritas are the high-lights. I would recommend the fajitas and for sure try their spicy mashed potatoes. The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff friendly.

Agua Verde has a great atmosphere and uneven food quality. The much touted fish dishes are too dry and salty, but the pork tacos are very good. The salsa is also disappointly too sweet. You can't beat the view of the water from the deck. The menu is quite extensive and happy hour is available. This restaurant is also almost always very crowded so expect a wait for a table. Service is efficient and the drink list is very long. Agua Verde also rents out kayaks but the rentals are somewhat pricey. Overall a good choice on a sunny day when you have the time to wait.

The perfect place for a rustic and casual dining experience overlooking Lake Union. I would imagine this would be a great place to watch the crews begin workouts as the autumn sun sets. The food is fresh with inventive ingredients and a delicious drink menu. The downside? Small portions and servers are often "too cool" college students who would rather be doing a ANYthing but waiting on you.
