This is one of our favorite Happy Hours. Seating can be tough if you get there too late. The alpine martini is my favorite for happy hour drinks. I would love o know how they make the evergreen snowballs. Yes the burgers are good, (y an extra buck for additions to the regular minis) but don't miss the calamari and fry cones.

We went to Cascadia for my husband's 35th birthday. I had heard so many good things about it and was to try it. It started to go downhill as soon as we were seated at perhaps the worst seat in the house - right by the kitchen doors (which make loud, annoying noises when they swing open). Our waitress was friendly but didn't seem knowledgable AT ALL about the menu. She couldn't recommend anything. For an expensive, upscale restaurant, I expected recommendations, knowledge about the food and how the chef had prepared it, where the ingredients are from, etc. Nope. None of that. I felt like I was at Red Robin - especially with all of the waiters almost tripping over our table on their way to the kitchen - oh except that I was paying $90 per person. Also, we were sitting there for about 10 minutes before we even got to talk to the Sommelier. He was actually very knowledable and friendly and sent us some free sparkling wine for waiting. He was the highlight of the night. The food was good but for such a high price tag I would have expected a wonderful dining experience that included great service.

My wife and I went to Cascadia last Saturday night for a birthday celebration (mine). We were seated at 8:30 and weren't waited on until about 8:45. Then it was another 10 minutes or so before we were served. Cascadia is a pretty expensive restaurant so I was more than a little irked with the way the evening was unfolding. Just in the nick of time, the sommelier arrived with two complementary glasses of sparkling wine coupled with the first course of the prix fixe we ordered. Better. The service from then on was good but not great. What we wanted was our server to act as a guide. Explaining a bit about each course, the choices of ingredients, the pairing of flavors, etc. Instead, we were just told what it was and to "enjoy". In short, we were pleased with the food but nonplussed by the service.

I went to this restaurant for happy hour (every night until 7pm). It was fabulous. It is located in Belltown on 1st Avenue. We sat outside since it was a nice evening and though it is noisy from street traffic there is a view of the water. The service was good and the food fantastic. You must try the mini-burgers that Cascadia is famous for. I also highly recommend the hummus with pita bread and the alpine martini.

Yes, their slider burgers avail at Happy Hour are well known to be cheap and delicious - but gd is this place packed from 5-7 most nights. We've tried TWICE to at least get admitted for the privilege of paying our $3/per or whatever it is for their coveted little meat patties, and have gotten dinged both times.
Go early or don't go at all, if you're trying to get in on the happy hour program.
Or, better yet, go next door to the relatively quiet Bell Town Bistro and have theirs - they are pretty darn good, faster, and the beer selection is better. Just a tip.

Cascadia is decorated as the haven of the contemporary yuppie. During happy hour, smartly dressed professionals sip cosmos and martinis at the bar. But for the less sophisticated, Cascadia has the attractive offer in the form of one-dollar specialty burgers during happy hour. If you are on the budget, you can wear your shorts, t-shirt, plop yourself down at an outdoor table, and order five specialty burgers and an ice-T. You will walk away completely full and only seven or so dollar short. By the way, the burgers, with mushroom and bacon mixed in the tiny patties, are delicious.

You might be thinking, "What else does she expect for $25?" My point is that if Cascadia is going to participate in the $25 special, don't try and serve a really poor steak. Serve a really good pasta or something else.
I also thought the service was really lacking. We waited for a long time between every visit from our server. I haven't been back since.
