I work right across the street from this cute restaurant. On windy cold days I order a cup of their Lentil soup and pita bread. THis soup is so warm and filling and the spices are just right. The woman who owns the restaurant is there everyday with a warm smile and she makes you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. The food is good and they even serve breakfast.

They serve a pesto, feta, and tomato omlette that just blows my mind. My wife gets a grilled feta sandwich that's also out of this world. We go with such regularity that our usual waitress need only make eye contact with us before placing our order and bringing out the coffee (which ranks among the best diner coffee I've ever had). Two can't-miss sure-fire dishes plus outstanding service means we go back again and again, and so should you.

I'd recommend Continental if you are looking for a quick, and light bite to eat. The salads are quite good (especially the spinach one) and come with lots of cheese, which is good if you like cheese. The lentil soup and the chicken soup are also both good so pick whichever one you prefer.
Continental also sells foods for cooking at home, such as feta cheese (both imported and domestic) and phyllo dough. The lady that works the front desk and serves on the north side is really friendly and personable.

The Continental has been in the U-District for years. It's run by a Greek family who is oh so very nice. The food is great. Try to Spanokopita if it's featured as a special. Also the grilled feta platter is a favorite. The avgolemono soup is tasty as is the gyros platter. Finish it all off with a piece of almond baklava. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
