We have never been disappointed at Flying Fish.
Its a great place to have a great dinner without dressing up. Its casual and offers a great food selection.
My favorite dish is the Seared Tuna! I highly reccommend it!
Flying fish has private rooms for larger gettogethers or business events, offers a nice wine list and full bar!

Been here several times and this time wasn't QUITE up to the same level as previous times. The salad, as mentioned by a previous person, was oily and tasteless. The salad I had a year ago here was much better. The scallops were good, but not overwhelming. Wine servings seemed small. Good but not great like I used to think.

for the crowd that gets off work pretty late, but still want to enjoy a fine dining dinner at an open, social restaurant, flying fish is the place to be. the food is excellent. and let me add, for the chicken eaters, flying fish has the best tasting chicken ever. quite funny because flying fish is better known for its seafood. and yes, i have tasted the cannot ever stay away seafood. it is high on the excellency rates.

Hey, my partner and I went==she had the Mahi Mahi while I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. The Mahi Mahi was kind of bland, but the things that came with it (a mixed vegetable chutney type dish, some kind of greens, potatoes) were very good. Overall I'd give that dish a B. I had the chicken, which was very good. It was crispy on the outside and was moist and delicious on the inside, and both side dishes were good. THe side salad I got was not good, it was very oily and pretty flavorless. Drinks from the bar were excellent, service was attentive but not intrusive. We sat outside, since it was such a nice day, which was fun but also is kind of loud since it is on 1st Avenue. I'm allergic to shellfish so perhaps my review isn't the most accurate but hey, here's my two cents!
Pros: decor, drinks, food appearance
Cons: price, noise outside

This was our last dinner on a vacation weekend to Seattle! Was craving Salmon and was not disappointed. Food and service was excellent. My date had the Opah and loved it. My only gripe was the ambience. More diner like atmosphere, tables cramped. We had just walked in and got a table (luckily), but it was right by the door and was crowded and felt like we were on display. More our fault though for not making a reservation. Otherwise, great food and drinks!
Pros: Food
Cons: Noisy, Cramped

Brought Mom in for her birthday for what I thought would be a nice dinner. I thought wrong. Though the service was decent, mistakes and poor preparation made for a disappointing experience, which won't be repeated. Started off poorly right away, with the "beet" salad with crumbled blue cheese being just a greens salad with a few small beet cubes added, and no blue cheese to be found. Then Mom's marlin entree was shoe-leather tough and inedible, while my girlfriend's marlin was prepared OK but a little aged tasting (my barracuda was fine). We told them about the shortcomings & they did make a nice gesture of complimentary Port wine for the trouble. But I wouldn't put myself, friends or family through that experience again.
Pros: Service, Location
Cons: Food quality, Preparation mistakes

Arrived on-time for an 8:45 reservation & treated like cattle when told "it would be awhile" & shoved with other waiting patrons into the tiny bar/entry area. Treated very rudely by both bartenders, so we opted to stand in the cold entry - finally seated (starving/frustrated) one hour late!! Asian & comfort food menu has no rhyme or reason and if you don't like spicy foods (according to our waiter) it eliminates all seafood options except two. The costly food was mediocre at best - cold sides, tasteless fish & unexciting presentation. It seemed like a good place to come if you are gay because you'd get the bartender's/waiter's full attention while the other patrons get little more than the bill. Finally, it was not comfortable - with people waiting for tables crowded around those actually seated, no one had any space to relax and enjoy.
Pros: good sized salads
Cons: rude staff, tasteless food, not worth the $

I would never go back to this place again. Though the ambience was good and the place trendy, the food was bad. The salad was swimming in oil and I couldn't eat it. The salmon cost $27 and was bland. To top it all off the service was horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Overpriced, Mediocre food, Bad Service

Menu changes daily to accentuate freshness. FF also serves a very decent steak as well as some incredible fried chicken if you are not in the mood for seafood.
Pros: serves late, fresh menu, fried chicken!

This is one of the worst places to eat in Seattle. They have messed up my reservations twice without apology and acted as if they were doing us a favor to "try and get us in" when I am the one who is paying $250 for a meal. I had the Salmon and my guests from CT had the Tuna. Both dishes lacked flavor, I do not understand how you can mess up Salmon in Seattle. If you want trendy and seafood walk across the street to the Dahlia Lounge or Queen City Grill.
Cons: , Food, Hostess
