Typical Ave. food. A little cheaper than normal, but similar dishes. More

Not too impressed with this place. Their cutlets are decent, but kind of dry, and the sushi is mediocre at best. Nothing really seems fresh. There is a large menu, which is a plus.

There was hair in the california rolls and in the main dish. Not just in mine but also in my friend's. They said they checked the food before it went out but obviously they didn't. The hair strands were very noticeable and there was more than one. How could they not notice it? It was disgusting. I do not recommend this place at all. It is very unsanitary.
Pros: no one was in the shop so it is not a very busy place
Cons: food quality questionable and also the sanitary of the workers questionable

I used to frequent this place regularly when I was a student because the prices were cheap and the food was always well made. However, I stopped coming here the day that I saw bugs crawling on the soda machine. I saw a silverfish and a cockroach run laps around the soda labels and vowed never to go back.

This amazing little teriyaki place has been feeding legions of students and frugal diners who know a good deal when they see one for years. Some of their dishes such as the udon and yakisoba are on par with that served at full service Japanese restaurants. You can't go wrong with their boneless chicken teriyaki. If you are a health nut, you can get it with double salad and no rice and no sauce. Don't forget to ask for the Kim Chee. If the owner is running the register and recognizes you, the kim chee is free, otherwise it is only a dollar.
Pros: udon, chicken teriyaki, free kim chee
Cons: no parking

This is one teriyaki restaurant that tops my list--although not specifically for the teriyaki. Don't be misled. Although the name of the restaurant is "Tokyo Garden", this teriykai joint is owned by Koreans--much like most of the teriyaki restaurants around Seattle. Therefore, I find that they serve my favorite Bi Bim Bop (at a great price) in the city. It may not be the most authentic version, nor will I argue that it's made of the most quality ingredients, but it sure hits the spot! I've gone through countless bowls of this stuff--they even serve a side bowl of miso. I prefer to add the miso to the dish (for those of you looking for a new twist on an old favorite). All in all, it was a meal that got me through years of college, and is still feeding a hungry stomach almost weekly.
Pros: cheap eats, good portions
Cons: parking can be tough

We come here when we want something healthy and cheap to eat. I like their sushi. Josh likes their chicken katsu. I also think it's funny to sit and eat sushi while 93.3 plays in the background. Very Ave. I don't like that they serve tea in Styrofoam cups...it's completely wasteful. I think they have as many veggie options as any place else because you can get stuff without the meat.

I like Tokyo Garden's vegetable yakisoba and vegetable gyoza. Many of my friends enjoy their pork and chicken katsu dishes too. The salad with dressing is pretty tasty (although sometimes it's been way too heavy on the onions). Their teriyaki sauce is delicious, and if you aren't concerned about culinary tradition it's pretty good on the rice too. I've never tried the sushi, but again, people have told me it's good.
You will usually get your meal in under five minutes, so it's good if you want semi-fast food. It's not gourmet, but it tops many other teriyaki places in this area.
